Anyone have McDonalds yet?

I never really followed the market value along any timelines. I have a question maybe somebody here could help with...

Do they come out with a higher price as singles on eBay and then drop, or do they hold a pretty stead value?

I ask only because I would want to pick up the Lightning players, and want to know what to expect. Thanks for any info.

*And if anybody here gets any spare Lightning they could trade, please let me know.

Good question, I wish I knew the answer. I remember a while back on the Beckett boards (I think) someone posted about an insert that gained a ton of value. Hopefully someone else can help!

Usually what happens is for the first few weeks (even months) this set is very HOT, especially the inserts because everyone and their dog collects these cards up in Canada. Its actually pretty funny standing in line and hearing everyone in front of you buying packs of Hockey cards :lol: . Like most sets though as people start completing them the prices start dropping. I dunno how long term value is though because i have never tried to trade or sell these after the year they were released.

It will be interesting to see what the odds on the inserts are. Maybe someone who has bought packs already knows (Lumm0x?)? In years past they have made one of the insert sets at odds of 1 in 60 packs. Those inserts go for decent money. A couple years ago i sold both the Iginla and Ryan Smyth inserts for around $50 and $40 respectively.

Oh wow the odds are crazy this year!!! Usually all the odds are like 1 in 6 or 1 in 7 with just 1 of the inserts with higher odds. This is awesome!! As far as that auction, after seeing that they are using the UD image i bet they dont even have that card in hand and are just hoping that they pull it :lol:

woot woot just got home from McDonalds with 18 packs. I asked for 20 packs but since i only ordered 6 menu items he said i could only buy 18 packs max. 3 packs per food item max he said. Hope i pull a cool insert

The odds are tougher this year. 18 packs and only 1 insert. Goaltending greats Brodeur. Its a great looking card. oh and 3 check lists as well. All my packs where from a fresh box.

Opened up 24 more packs today, just 1 insert. They made it really hard this year with the inserts, theres no way i will be able to put together a master set this year unless i buy most of the inserts off ebay.

Bought 8 packs at lunch, all base not even a CL, so i went back later and bought 16 more packs, pulled the Steve Mason Goalie greats. Pretty nice looking card, it will have to do as my "eye candy" for the night :lol:

OK lol my GF just brought me 6 more packs from late night drive thru, pulled Steve Mason goalie greats again. I think that takes me to opening 54 packs all together now. 54 packs and only 4 inserts, all goalie greats, 2 Brodeurs and 2 Steve Mason's. Wish i could pull a different insert like pride of Canada or Horizons, lol!!

9 more packs which scored me 2 inserts, a goalie greats Carey Price and also my first pride of Canada (1:40) insert, Ryan Getzlaf. These cards look very similar to this years Upper Decks clearly Canadian insert, which is acetate ans absolutley sick.

ill hook u up with the Tampa Bay base. I thinks theres just two, Steven Stamkos and Vinny Lecavalier. I have an extra Vinny so far and im sure ill pull another Stamkos soon.
