The shop I buy most supplies from says that they keep going up in price due to importing costs/fees. It seems everything has gone up a fair amount, plus the stuff like top loaders and sleeves can get pretty heavy to ship in bulk. Sometimes I feel like I have spent more for supplies than the actual cards, but that is nowhere near reality of course. However, add up what you might spend for boxes, sheets, holders, etc and it can be an eye opener if you buy enough stuff!
