I have just gotten a response from Jeff, this is the information he wanted me to post.

( I have no time to log in to message boards-- no matter what the issues are),,,,,,hobby/personal takes a backseat to my professional life emails,,,,,

,, life happens,,,,,

Jeff

So if you have no time, why do this?

...gotta love how "life happens" is a good excuse for people

::facepalm::

I hope that you never have to go thru what he has had to go thru this year..

see...instead of keeping secrets and playing mysterious, a simple 2 minute post would have solved this, or letting someone know so they can tell people here would have been fine.

being responsible doesnt stop because something happens in life....ive had alot of bad things happen to me in life and I still followed through on committments.

no excuse for being irresponsible.

I could see if this was over a month period...but this is from june...too long to use the excuse of "life happens"

Listen, Jeff provided his phone number and if you need to call him than do so. Other than that I do not want him to post on a message board the private in nature specifics about his life. Lets just say things are not going well and it happened around the time of this "contest".

+1 on just about everything here. Funny how a few guys email him and within a day they get a response from him. I'm not even in this bgs contest, but am supposed to be holding cards for him that he agreed to buy from me in May. I've sent numerous pms and emails and have waited weeks upon weeks for a response to most of them. The few returned extremely late ask me to keep the cards for him. If things aren't going well for him, I'm feel bad for him, but to not be responsible enough to simply take the time to send one mass email to people is ridiculous. He had time to contact George and others, but doesn't have the time to send out one email. I don't want his phone number or to plaster his personal life all over the message board, but to apply those circumstances to not getting back to certain people and then turn around and get right back to others isn't doing the right thing.

I and numerous others been subbing cards with Jeff for the last 18 months and we have always received our cards. I have personally subbed a couple hundred cards with him. If he was out to get "free" cards he would have kept my gem Ripken rookie or attempted to switch it with something less desirable. From my many experiences dealing with Jeff, he is known to be behind schedule/slow at times but I have always just accepted he is a busy character. I just usually don't send any time sensitive grading material. Communication goes a long way resolving these issues before they gain momentum. Jeff is usually good at responding when questions arise. He could certainly do a much better job staying ahead of the crowd with some heads up communication of his own, and I can attest, I'm usually the one sending the first e-mail. Yes, Jeff's computer failed recently and he is using the library when time is available. Lastly, I believe Jeff is employed by or working with Nevada law enforcement though I don't know if he is law enforcement. Either way I don't see a Vegas resident seeking the unemployment line in this economy by snatching a couple hundred bucks worth of cards.

Is the call necessary? I would feel kind of odd calling a stranger on a message board that I regularly post on:

"Uhh hey this is Y-4-N-K-3-3-5 from Freedom Card Board, I am just calling about the card I sent you in June and was wondering about its current status" ;)

No offense to Jeff, I am sure he is a nice guy. I would just feel pretty awkward giving him a call over a single chrome card. I guess I will just wait until he gets things situated. I am in no rush was just curious if I would ever be seeing it again.

kinda. we were told to call him. plus, i sent him an extra 17 cards and $130 in fees, not just one free grading, so I wanted to see when he'd ship. he seems like a nice guy, and i think everything has been worked out...

I guess I got here a little late. I also won a free grading. I have been in touch with him via email however. I am waiting patiently as I know his reputation around here speaks for itself. I am not worried that he is scamming my card or anyone elses. Do I wish I had my card sooner, yes, but I am not going to complain about it here when he has these contests all of the time and offers free grades to many people.

Thanks Jeff, I received my cards today.
Grades were OK for a first timer 8.5 on my Donruss Elite 3/5 gold. 9 on the Smoak razor blue chrome, and sadly an 8 on my Noonan Aflac auto this was the only card I personally pulled. Again I appreciate the time Jeff put in on this contest and wanted everyone to know what a great guy he is.
