It's great to see the kid get some work in the Show!! He pitched very well hitting 97 in his MLB Debut I thought!!! Coming from Derek's hometown if you only knew how far this kid has risen you would appreciate him more. Wasn't a huge talent in local ball!!

Those jays made him look good haha.... not a smart move by Washington IMO, bringing a rookie in with the bases loaded for his ML Debut.

Should have atleast gave him a fresh inning, was just joking about making him look good haha, yeah his stuff looked pretty good.

I may have missed a thread that covered it the other night, but I was zonked out pretty early. Here's the line if you didn't see it:

2.1 IP, 3 H, 0 BB, 2 K

He was pumping the ball up to 97 and sat in the mid-90s.

I don't think this is the time to sell (I'm sitting on about 30 refs/chrome AUs) but I saw a ref AU closed for $33+ the other night. His stuff has remained really cheap. Do you expect a spike when he heads to the rotation? Lefties that throw gas are tough to come by.

You'll be waiting until 2010 more than likely for him to be in the rotation, late this year maybe if they are out.
