Anyone see Jodie Meeks drop 54 the other night?

BBCKId,
I wouldn't go that far with Smith...I'm actually afraid when Liggins steps on the court. :|

I have agree here 10,000%. I am absolutely not a Liggins fan. People were seeing him as the savior to the team after the first few games of the season against West Virginia and one other team. He is probably the worst 4 star prospect in the history of basketball. First, he runs like a duck. His posture is so high, he has trouble with small guards. Secondly, he thinks he's the next coming of Michael because if he didn't he would never shoot the ball again. 17% from behind the ark, yet he still feels the urge to shoot 16 to 17 times per game. Thirdly, he obviously has a problem with Billy. He's mad that Porter plays ahead of him. He's mad that he isn't the star. He even wears different shoes than everyone else on the team to try and be different. Lastly, he makes the stupidest turnovers at the most inappropriate times. He'll recieve an outlet pass and throw it 4 feet over Stevensons head as he's running down floor. Who would throw it to Stevenson while he's running on a fast break, and on top of that it's 4 feet over his head where he can't even catch it, and if he does he'll walk as he comes down. Lord knows he can barely chew gum and walk, much less catch a ball and dribble. Listening to the talk shows around Lexington to the people who wanting Liggins to play over Porter just drove me insane!!! Okay, sorry, got that Liggins vent off my chest.

Tennessee gave up as many to points to Memphis yesterday as Meeks scored on them, and still lost. We SUCK.

What the heck happened? Seriously. All those expectations. No dig at you or the team..but WTH?
Zero point gaurd play, no three point shooters at all, no heart or toughness except for T. Smith and sometimes Chism, inconsistant, J.P. Princess...I could go on an on. And my biggest disappointment is that there is no improvement at all from game to game. It's like we are getting worse and worse each game. Plus, Pearl has been out coached in most, if not all, of our losses, IMO,

This is not a good team at all. And these are Pearl's players too! Noone is left from Buzz Ball, all Pearl's recruits. Great job there, doing less with more talent. Oh how I miss JaJuan and Lofton. :(

Jay Bilas said in the preseason that Tyler Smith was going to win the SEC player of the year. LMAO!!! He hasn't watched a damn Tennesse game. Tyler Smith is the most out of control, wild, fill in the blank player in college basektball. The phrase under control does not register with Tyler Smith. Not knocking the Vols but he hurts you guys in so many ways. Your bigs are what keep you in the game.
You couldn't be more wrong. Sure, he had a bad game agianst Memphis going 5-18, but he still had a double double. Plus he gives his all on defense, something that can't be said for the majority of the UT players.

Also, there is NO one on the team that can shoot the three consistantly. So that means teams will sag off shooters and can collapse on our post players. Smith and Chism are our two best players, but because the gaurds can't shoot, they are usually fighting off 2-3 defenders every time they are in the paint.

Plus, he is the only players in the SEC in the top 18 in PPG, REB, and assists. Besides Memphis, he usually takes over a game at the end, but the fact our gaurds can't shoot allowed Memphis to "pack it in".

I have to disagree. Every game I've watched him play, he is the biggest momentum killer on the team. He takes the wildest shots and attempts the most risky plays on the court. He's out of control more often than in control. He's the type that seems to shoot 5 seconds into the shot clock and I know it has to drive Bruce Pearl crazy. Maybe it's just against Kentucky, I don't know, but if he could keep himself in control, UT would be a tough team.

You must not watch many games then. He's the least of UT's problems right now.

Against UK, he is the #1 problem.

UK vs. Vandy?

1.) Is there something wrong with the rim because Harris and Stevenson can't dunk the darn ball.
2.) They can't shoot free throws
3.) They have no offense except for Meeks having to make half court shots.

edit: oh and hte officiating is a bit one sided eh? AJ Ogilvy will post up for two seconds, get someone on his hip, and they call an automatic foul on Kentucky.

Seriously. I can't remember a game that one-sided as far as fouls go. I'm not making excuses, but there couldn't have been a foul EVERY TIME the ball went inside.

We were totally out of our offense tonight. On the bright side, other guys are starting to score a bit more.

^^ I'm happy someone else said that. My wife usually jumps my case when I blame things on seemingly terrible lopsided foul calling....
but my wife nearly jumped out of the bed a few times yelling at the refs! I saw a few times where Meeks shooting arm was hacked 3 or 4 times in on play...no call... then go to the other side of the court and a UK player looks at someone... FOUL! I saw how this game was going to go when Bill Clyde got the T.

Meeks still had a good game.

I'm seeing the same kind of game tonight. SC IS shooting lights out....but it doesn't help that they are being allowed to foul...while calling phantom fouls against the 'Cats.....

I think Vasquez from Maryland will pump in 35 tonight, not Meeks, he won't have to, he and Patterson make a dangerous duo if Patterson can stay healthy.

if we get this future #1 pick however, I think that I may be able to forgive them. Nobody should be this good

haha, no kidding!! I don't think we will lose Orton. He has already signed his letter so technically the only way he could leave is if Kentucky let him go. There is an article on Cats Pause saying Orton's dad is really looking forward to speaking with Calipari.

Unfortunately, I think Demarcus Ferguson is gone. He was the fourth top recruit in the nation 2 years down the line.

as far as new coach... I was hoping they'd try to get Ford or Pelphrey.
Heck, even get Farmer to quit his government job...if he's still doing that.

I here yah. I'm not too high on Calipari as I think he has some fishy deelings getting so many top recruits to go to Memphis. And I am still rather heated on how Billy G was ran out of town.
