You might be kidding but that's a genius idea. I suspect it's worh nowhere near $65k, too many of the major stars are missing. For the hell of it lets use $45k, which would be $100 a slot after grading fees for the rest of the set. A common PSA 3 is a $30-35 card, so at the most you lose $65. Tell me how that's worse than any other group break or repack product? Or 75% of hobby boxes?

Nice set, just for giggles, I'd go in for a spot too. He's probably over priced it to account for the ebay fees and shipping.

Deans Cards is a local internet only seller here. He has an office, ten employees and could do very well with a brick & mortar store, just chooses not to do so. He is a bit over priced on all of his stuff but he does sell a lot and I'd buy more from him if he'd let me do local pick up, but he wont. You can walk right in to his office and he wont sell you a thing, you must use eBay or buy online, then he will mail it out to you. Guess it is a tax thing or the type of business license he has, not sure.

It's funny, I was on the PSA site, just checking out the various areas and was looking for collector names I actually recognized. One name mentioned in their HOF area and registry section that I didn't recognize, but researched was Thomas Tull. It was interesting to find out he is a multimillionaire who had a movie production company and has part ownership in the Steelers. I always wondered what someone with Bill Gates money could do in this hobby if they were interested and this is the closet I have seen. The guy has an amazing collection apparently and since money is not really an obstacle, then he can pretty much buy the best of what is for sale and could probably talk most people into selling something that isn't with the right price! I'm sure most collectors started as childhood collectors with modest budgets. Most of us remain in that category, but those who make it big financially in life and still have that collecting interest are every collectors fantasy.

I sold a card to Olbermann once (06 Heritage Gordon cutout), and I once sold a card to a guy who turned out to be a hedge fund manager. Both paid promptly. Yeah, being a multi-millionaire would allow you to assemble an amazing collection. Compared to other places such people park their money, like art and real estate, 99.9% of all sportscards are chump change.
