Are cases of Ginter going to skyrocket like Bowman?

I wanted to bust a case with or without Strasburg. Buy now? They are at 1,029 right now.

I doubt they double in price (like some bowman did). If you are going to bust a case I'd still buy it now though. It seems like every year Ginter goes up at least $10 a box after release.

He may affect Ginter since it's coming out soon, but it's hard to imagine Strasburg affecting every product from here out. Heyward hype and prices redefined the card market and pushed 2007 and 2008 wax prices up.

It looks like Strasburg will be able to do the same for awhile, but I wonder how long his hype will last and how long he will be able to affect the entire baseball card market.

They were $900 last weekend.

I know over the weekend I posted a mlb.com deal where you were able to pick up 2 cases for $1,600. Most thought it was pretty much the going rate and not much of a savings....that was less than a week ago, so looks like they are already on their way up. Probably wouldn't wait too much longer if I really wanted a case.

If Topps had switched Ginter and Bowman's release dates the difference in prices of these products would've been huge...although I don't think Topps would've been able to include Stras prior to yesterday in Ginter if I'm not mistaken.

I suspect that prices for everything will diminish as more and more Stras is released. Most of the people buying don't care which release or brand they get given their novice collector status, although I'd guess most would be most familiar with good 'ol Topps.

That is my question to. I am debating preordering a case or at least 4 boxes of Tops Chrome but since it does not get released until September 30th, I am wondering if the hype will still be there. At $67 a box it seems liek a decent deal

I was considering a case as well. Seems like a great year for rookies regardless, but if Stras is still hot then it will definitely be a good buy. I just don't see how his stuff could possibly remain this hot for three full months though. I believe it'd be another first for the hobby if this happens.

EVERYTHING baseball this year will be higher in cost due to the stras phenomenon and exclusivity.

This will be like the Lebron year, but for baseball.

Buy early, and cash in folks.
