I usually am just a power hitter though, so most of those would go to the left fielder.

I did some quick research on this guy, apparently he was the consensus top-rated safety prospect in the country out of high school. He played baseball senior year. Looks like he chose the wrong sport.

Hitting professional grade pitching is probably a lot harder than people think, but 36 Ks in 37 ABs is horrible.

nah, he is going to UW in the fall for football. If I had to guess, this will be his first and last pro baseball season.

That's not the point. The point IS getting the bat on the ball. Something Shaq has only done once. Getting on base is irrelevant.

Similar to Clint, I am confident that if given the chance I would do better. Not only would I start out 37 for 37, I would challenge DiMaggio's 56 game hitting streak in my first month as a pro. And I would make it a point to get my 57th hit with a bunt, just to show my range.

No way, I suck. Started out OK in Little League, but got drilled a few too many times and started bailing out on every swing. Went though an entire season without a hit (walked plenty, though), then quit as I was having foot surgery. Washed up at 12.

I did not vote. At 56 i sure would like to give it a try. What every happened it would be fun. I would need a few tubes of ben-gay and a week off work to recover!
