Is Alex Gordon still a top prospect?![]()
I was more just hoping he doesn't seriously hurt anyone. Thank God Frazier's gonna be OK.

Gordon is out 3-4 weeks with a broken finger IIRC.

I don't think he should make the team, though. Give him a few months in AA and AAA first.
GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Aroldis Chapman's first Cactus League outing for the Cincinnati Reds lived up to all the advance billing.
The Cuban left-hander threw two scoreless innings and struck out three of his last four batters in the Reds' home exhibition Monday against the Kansas City Royals.
Perhaps most notably, one pitch was clocked at 102 mph, and he struck out Royals infielder Chris Getz looking on a 100-mph fastball. Of his 26 pitches, 15 were strikes.
After allowing a single and a walk in his first inning, Chapman went up against the Royals' 2-3-4 hitters in his second and blew them away. After striking out Getz, he got Billy Butler on a first-pitch grounder to third and fanned Rick Ankiel looking.
After taking over for starter Bronson Arroyo in the third inning, Chapman first faced seventh-place hitter Brayan Pena, a fellow Cuban defector who caught him during offseason workouts in Miami.
Pena got ahead in the count 2-0 and lined a single to left, then was erased on a fielder's choice grounder by Kila Ka'aihue. After Ka'aihue was caught stealing, Chapman walked Brian Anderson and then struck out David DeJesus swinging.
Chapman, 22, had thrown several bullpen sessions and a scoreless inning Thursday in an intrasquad game that was closed to the public. This was his first pro appearance facing an opposing team and in front of a crowd, albeit a small one.
Even though he's facing a step up in competition as well as a big cultural adjustment off the field, Chapman is regarded as a candidate for the fifth spot in the Reds' rotation spot behind Aaron Harang, Arroyo, Johnny Cueto and Homer Bailey. All four are right-handers, which might bode well for his chances.
