CC is ranked 15th in ERA and 21st in WHIP in the AL. That's not All Star worthy. Wins is more of a team stat that personal accomplishment.

McCutchen deserves to be in but so does Kemp, Ethier, Braun, Pence and Berkman. Just a lot good OF'ers in the NL.

I think he'll get the final vote. At least that's who I'd vote for. Doesn't help that they only have two 1B on the roster and it is a toss up with him and Miggy.

Understood, but I don't consider reserves. Best players SHOULD be voted into the game. I know they always (normally) aren't.

Reserve process is just as bad, with the whole "1 player per team" rule making other players get snubbed.

Konerko and Cutch not even getting in that way is horrible. CC, not so much.

It's tough that Konerko didn't make it with the numbers he has posted, but Gonzalez and Cabrera are the two best first basemen in the league this year so it makes sense that Konerko didn't make the initial roster.

Carrying three catchers in the AL when the two reserves have fairly subpar numbers hurt. I realize Wieters was picked as the lone Oriole but it would almost make more sense to have Kevin Gregg as the rep, drop Valverde, and add Konerko.

Was also surprised to see the weak stats for AL OFers.
