No, this monopoly has nothing to do with Topps. Back in 2005 i got the Astros Edition Monopoly. And here we are, 8 years later, and i finally open it and play it with my 7 year old, Alison.

things were cruising along, then she winds up with Jeff Bagwell. Well, that cant happen. I have to have him. So i made a fair trade for him.

Around the board between the both of us for the next hour and a half... Then...

I landed on Biggio with two dugouts, which was a bad hit for me. Then i went to jail and hit him again after she added more dugouts. This almost ended it.

but then i came around the corner to face off against Andy Pettitte with two dugouts. Strike three, im out! Alie won our first Astros Monopoly game!

Haha very cool! I have like 4 Cardinals Monopoly games that are unopened and will probably never get opened. People always give them to us.

You should open at least one to play. I was apprehensive about opening it, but i am very glad she chose it to play. And am especially thrilled she enjoyed herself and learned how to trade, and buy stuff. And she had to use her math and count the dice and her money. Sure, it was fun, but she actually learned stuff too. And im really glad she won in the end.

Awesome! All around awesome! Interesting game, and the fact you played it with your kid! I love the Sportscenter synopsis, too! Can't believe Bagwell is light blue, though!

Might have something to do with the value to the team, production wise. Bags was hurt most of 2005... Oswalt is in Boardwalks slot, and Berkman at Park place. Clemens and Pettitte were in the green, and Biggio was in the Reds... Sure seemed like they did a good job at placement for value, with an emphasis on pitching. Most of the pitchers were either orange or green.

And im really glad Alie enjoyed it. She would even read the home and road cards out loud. They refer to the playoffs, with scenarios around the Braves, And Cardinals. She pulled a card that said St. Louis, and she read it as street louis!

Depending on the year, these might have a surprise baseball card. I have an unlisted Darryl Kile Upper Deck Victory card with the Monopoly logo on it from one of these.

My wife got me the Dale Earnhardt edition about 10 years ago, it got ripped open that day and when my son got old enough we started playing it quite often. He loves anything to do with cars/4 wheelers/monster trucks which is cool since it is my #1 hobby

Its worth more for the quality time with my daughter, and the look on her face as she drove me into financial ruin. :)
