Relatively impatient when it comes to payments, I always pay within 24 hours, it usually comes from me within the first hour  .

Anyway, how long is "appropriate" when waiting for a payment on eBay? Thanks for your help.

I feel the same way you do.

I usually wait a few days, then start bugging them with payment reminders, then after 8 days my automatic payment dispute thing kicks in.

Send invoice when auction ends.
Send invoice about 3 days later.
Send another invoice at 7 days.
File NPB at 10 days (give or take).

I RARELY auction, but when I do, my general invoice goes out immediately. On day 8 I send a message asking the buyer if they intend to pay or if they'd like to mutually withdraw the transaction. It's the easy way out for the buyer, but it keeps me out of hot water in terms of potential negatives. I've never had a buyer take me up on the offer surprisingly.

I try to give 10-14 days if I can, but if they stay in communication and have a problem or something I might give up to a month.

Already sent one on Friday (the day it ended). One more will come tomorrow night if nothing comes in.

A week tops, unless the buyer says they can't make payment until a certain date before they win the item. I know that when I buy stuff, I sometimes forget to pay after a couple days.

I dont buy a ton of things, so when I do I usually pay the second the auction is over.

Having said that, as a seller I am very tolerant. I will not contact a buyer for payment until 10 days to 2 weeks has passed, and then it's a polite and simple e-mail asking if they still want the card. I'll wait a week or so after that. Then if I am not contacted back or paid, and in a equally polite but a bit more elaborate e-mail ask them again if they still wish to purchase the card, because if not I'd like to list it again. After about 30 days of non-payment or no contact, I send yet another polite e-mail letting them know that i had to relist the card and hopefully everything is ok on their end. Then I just move on.

Using this method, I have never had a non paying bidder, and have never had to use my 30 day rule. And I would say atleast 50 times I had to wait 2+ weeks for payment where others would have probablly went the npb route.

After about 4 days I'll send an email. If no response after 7, I'll fill out the warning.

I was thinking about making a thread just like this....

I had someone buy card from me. No payment after 1st invoice. Sent 2nd invoice after 3 days. No payment.

Filed NPB after 4 total days. Then I get an email saying the buyer is waiting for money from another sale and will pay me soon. After another 4 days, still no payment. They email again saying they will pay on Monday (it's Saturday when i get this) and they are still waiting on payment for their stuff.

Once the NPB allowed me to close the case, I did. I couldn't get my money from her because she bought something of mine without having the money. Sorry, but I'm not waiting around so you can collect money while I potentially lose out on making decent money on a card.

You don't pay within the time frames given, that's your fault.
