Didn’t rip any on release b/c I thought it was overpriced + didn’t think it would offer a decent ROI. Prices have now dropped significantly and cases can be had in the $400s. For those thinking of busting razor sigs, @ what cost point would you rip a case?

The honest problem with ripping them is the MASSIVE hit/miss factor. I have never seen it this bad in any product before....

There were cases with 12-15 autos /25 or less, and cases with ZERO /25 or less.......

I think you make a good point though, the price is dipping dramatically. I noticed that lettermen is down to about $420 a case also.

10 boxes per case, 10 autos per box. 100 autos total for $400-$440

$30 a box or $300 a case on both signature series and letterman

+1. The value is just awful. I ripped a box (mistakenly) for $70 and pulled nothing #'ed below 199. Not to mention, a few cards are just in gross condition, but aren't worth the postage to send back to Razor. Although I pulled a Beckham/Alvarez, I still got like $40 value by pulling two of the best names in the set.

Yeah, I noticed letterman also, but not sure it offers the same potential for long-term value like razor sigs (esp. exclusives) does (@ least in theory). lately, I’ve been ripping more 07 bcdp b/c while that case price has dropped, I feel confident in the ROI I have made/can continue to make.

I think you are dead on here. At this price point, you only need to hit a few bigger cards, then average $1.50 per after that to break even.

What's the packout format? How many boxes per case?
10 boxes/case, 5 packs/case, 1 auto/pack, so assuming the odds hold true, you should get 100 aus/case. however, most autos don’t sell for much, so I’m not sure you can make your $ back since sig cases seemed to be either loaded w/25 + /199 aus or ‘miss’ + loaded w/a bunch of dupes of blah guys

I even think that price point is high on Letterman to guarantee yourself a decent break. I consider a decent break if i can get 75% back by selling right away and anything above that is great.

That’s what I was thinking. Wondering if they’ll drop that low. Ah well, back to ripping more 07 bcdp cases in the meantime :) now that’s a product which, even though the price has dropped, offers a decent ROI imo

You have been banging that drum for a long time, and I have to agree with you. Especially if you are getting them at $500 a pop. That autograph checklist is looking WORSE by the day. But that base set is awesome. One of these years, it will be the perfect mix of solid base and auto checklist. Ah, nevermind, Topps will always screw it up.

personally, I would leave it sealed
I can’t leave a single pack sealed for longer than 5 minutes, much less a single case.

Yep, 07 bcdp has been VERY good to me + @ <500/case (which is what I’ve been buying them @, esp. when live.com was 30%), it seems like a no brainer. Now if only I could date someone who loves to sort chromes

I HATE Razor and have never owned 1 card made by them, but I would rip Signature at around $350-$375 per case.

or you could be a collector and rip them for the fun of collecting. Don't worry about ROI? Maybe that would solve the problem? Maybe?

I used to be an avid collector (maddux= my fav player) + sometimes, I rip for fun. However, cards are now a business for me, so when ripping products, I have to think of likely ROI more than ripping for fun.
