I never realized that some of the old phone cards were numbered on the back. I have a box of them. Just went through them. There are 189 total from 1 Minute to $5 and Printers proof. Nothing real exciting. The lowest numbered was /298.View attachment 340731 View attachment 340732
Amazingly just a couple of weeks after my last Dilfer pickup from his playing career, I found another one I needed! That's crazy because on average I only find one every year or two. This is a huge pickup, I've been searching for it since I started buying/trading online in 1997 and this is the first one I've ever seen. 1996 Pro Line Intense $3 Phone Card Test 32/49. Rather than this being an actual "test" issue for a phone card like you might see from time to time, this was a legit pack-inserted parallel. There was also a "Proof" parallel, which is just as confusing. Unlike my last Dilfer pickup that I had to shell out $100 for, this one cost me a whole THREE BUCKS. The seller would be kicking themselves if they knew what my max bid was.
Not too bad for a mistake auto. He won't be around too much longer. Hard to believe he'll be 90 in October. Seems like yesterday he was managing the terrible Mariners of 1980-81.Accidently hit buy it now and well...my 3rd of his autos
