Yeah those 2000 Retro/Future Refractors can be tough, I still need 7 of them for my A's team set. To add to it, you have to be careful to avoid the Leximo backdoor sheet-cut cards.

A couple of big 2000 cards. Finest Gold Refractor Tim Hudson and SkyBox Premium Star Rubies Extreme Ben Grieve 06/50.

Amazingly just a couple of weeks after my last Dilfer pickup from his playing career, I found another one I needed! That's crazy because on average I only find one every year or two. This is a huge pickup, I've been searching for it since I started buying/trading online in 1997 and this is the first one I've ever seen. 1996 Pro Line Intense $3 Phone Card Test 32/49. Rather than this being an actual "test" issue for a phone card like you might see from time to time, this was a legit pack-inserted parallel. There was also a "Proof" parallel, which is just as confusing. Unlike my last Dilfer pickup that I had to shell out $100 for, this one cost me a whole THREE BUCKS. The seller would be kicking themselves if they knew what my max bid was.

I never realized that some of the old phone cards were numbered on the back. I have a box of them. Just went through them. There are 189 total from 1 Minute to $5 and Printers proof. Nothing real exciting. The lowest numbered was /298.

Big non-Dodger haul today.

Harry Hooper Auto PC. Hooper.jpg

A few more of these Mariners Fred Meyer photos. They are unmarked, so people that have them probably have no idea what they are if they didn't obtain them personally. Fred Meyer is a store like Target (a variety of food items and non-food-apparel, electronics, toys, etc). I think they are just in the Pacific NW, but I could be wrong too. They handed these out, similar to Sonic and Seahawks photos (and Trail Blazers in Portland), but the Seahawks photos actually have the Fred Meyer name on them. These are either lost to obscurity (no big names) or they are that hard to find! Mariners Fred Meyer.jpg

This was an impulse buy. I wanted the Joe carter gold autograph magnet. It was a random insert and I like those odd one off inserts. Turns out I already had one, but when I did the match, I figured why not get the whole set! I didn't have any of these, so now I have the entire set, plus a 2nd Carter Auto! All the usual big names from the 95/96 time frame.Martin Mag Carter Au.jpgMartin Mag.jpg

A couple basketball coach autos too. Carnesecca is pack pulled, I don't think Wooden is though. Carnesecca.jpgWooden.jpg

2 pretty cool items:

1) Lineup card from David Ortiz's final career Homerun.
2) This program comes from the GI World Series which was played in Nurmberg (with ******'s bunker in the backdrop) by the soldiers in September 1945. While Germany had surrendered a few months before, one of the games was on the JV-Day, the day that Japan surrendered and WWII officially ended. Beyond all of that history, the game was also integrated, featuring future Hall-of-Famers Leon Day and Willard Brown. The series was played just weeks before Jackie Robinson signed with the Dodgers.

Dave Parker Donruss Recollection /15. What especially drew me to this card was that he was a Brewer. I like the obscure team cards for players like this where you otherwise know him as a Pirate or Red or some of you may have had no clue he was a Brewer briefly! Parker DK.jpg

Bob Pettit AP Auto. Can't get enough of these lately. Wish I would have picked up more when I sought out the Russell. Pettit.jpg

Very nice mail day today with four future Hall of Fame RCs and a 1/1 printing plate for my Ryan Helsley collection

2001 Bowman Heritage SP Albert Pujols RC

2004 Bowman Heritage Yadier Molina RC Base and Black and White parallel - I just can't help but add these. It's my favorite Molina RC.
2004 Bowman Heritage Yadier Molina.jpg2004 Bowman Heritage Black and White Yadier Molina.jpg

2004 Topps Heritage Yadier Molina RC - This is a pretty close runner up for my second favorite though. This one is headed to SGC for a tux to match my other Molina RCs.

2019 Topps Gallery Cyan Printing Plate 1/1 Ryan Helsley - I generally don't care about printing plates but since Ryan hasn't had anything issued since the 2020 season and I'm down to mainly 1/1s and /5 parallels this was a no brainer for the cost. I'm hoping his promotion to "Closer" and his excellent season will get him into 2022 Topps Update or at least 2023 Topps Series 1.

This sharp ‘74 Steve Carlton arrived a couple days ago.

Working on a Topps era HOF pitcher set. All 40 who have a Topps card will represent a different year/design. No rookies.

With Carlton, the 70’s are complete. 33 down, 7 to go!

Blue is a 2003 Topps All-Time Fan Favorites Refractor 009/299 and completes the A's run of refractors from 2003-05 Fan Favorites. Took forever to find this one for some reason, and of course the day after it arrived another one showed up on COMC, that's how it is. Canseco gets me a little closer for the 2021 Topps Chrome Platinum auto team set. He looks like a chubby widdle boy in this picture.

081222-2.jpg
Crosby 18/50 gets me one away from the 2005 Leaf Certified Mirror Blue team set. Cunningham completes 2009 Finest Red Refractors/25. Still need three for 1998 Paramount Holo-Silver/99 after picking up this Mark Bellhorn. And I can't resist the 1989 Pro Set design on baseball cards for some reason, it's giving me flashbacks to marvelling over Barry Sanders RCs. This one is 15/35.

A great oddball haul today.

Citgo Coin set on the original paper checklist. I got this for around $20 and thought it seemed low. The coins are glued to the paper, which may bother some, but based on what other sets are selling for, I think I got a steal! Citgo.jpg

A nice lot of Trader Speaks, Collectors Den and Renata Galasso catalogs. These really take me back, as I used to buy annual sets from Galasso. These are my first Den/Trader Speaks catalogs though. Trader Speaks.jpgRenata Galasso.jpg

A Seahawks poster. Advertised as signed, I am pretty sure these are not actual signatures. Would need to see another poster to know for sure. seahawks Poster.jpg

Finally a Paul Arizin auto that has been eluding me for a bit. I have a decent percentage of the NBA top 50 from the 1996 list, but not all and I don't expect to get there given the popularity of the NBA collectibles. I'll just focus on getting all the affordable ones from here on out. Should have been doing this 20 years ago!Arizin.jpg

Throwing another Yadi rookie on the stack plus some TTM autos and customs. I also had a friend who went the NLBM a couple weeks ago be kind enough to send me a couple of Buck's Hall of Fame postcards that the museum and HyVee printed up for the Tip of the Cap tour.

2004 Topps Heritage Yadier Molina RC - I'll take these for $15 shipped all day long.
2004 Topps Heritage.jpg

Andre Dawson and Ryne Sandberg TTM autos - Pretty sure my buddy just sent me these to torment as a Cardinals fan lol
Andre Dawson.jpg Ryne Sandberg.jpg

He made up for it with a couple Cardinals autos though.
Chris Carpenter.jpg Stan Musial Custom.jpg

He also sent me two of these postcards plus some other material from the NLBM from this year. I'll end up framing one of these with this cut auto I've had for a while.

Dilfer early Skybox pack certified Au (sloppy, unless that is just his sig) and Jim Marshall Auto. Still mouring the loss of the Fan Favorites Purple People Eaters. tnjnorthnj supposedly sent to the wrong bidder, who then apparently decided to keep it. Dilfer.jpgJ Marshall.jpg

Can confirm that's about average for a Dilfer sig (I may own a couple of them).
