Wow... this kid is really impressing me, the k's is an issue but he is actually cutting down on those it seems.

He now leads the MLB in Hits and AVG.

CURRENT: .377 AVG 1 HR 9 RBI .526 SLG % 43 Hits 114 AB's

Everybody knows he needs to cut down on his k's... but I am hoping the coaching staff doesn't mess with him too much.

True story, but when you hit 36% of your BIP on a rope, you tend to have a high BABIP. When you're quick-fast, you tend to have a decent BABIP too.

He and Chase Headley are over-achieving, no doubt. But, they are squaring that bastard up.

K-Rate, not so pretty. He should be able to get it down to 25% percent or so while keepign his BB% above 10%.

Kid's gunna have a bumpy first year, but he's shown me something that I didn't think he had in him.

how is he going to have a bumpy first year when he is leading the league in hits and average...seems to me that it is anything but bumpy

I thought he was at .387 after he went for the collar tonight, but I guess I'm wrong.
I think it'd be cool if they battled for the batting title all-year-round.
The only problem I have with Ajax is his K-rate (but if he keeps raking like he is, that won't matter as much). I hope he develops power, though. I just wish the Yankees kept him, but at the time of the trade, I really liked the deal.
