I'm looked at a couple of non certified autographed jerseys. One I can't figure out the player, the other is a Valenzuela, it seems a little off to me but the collection of auto'd jerseys the guy has can really only be acquired by a collector as they are a hodge podge of players and strange players, nobody too huge like Rolen, Sheffield, Crawford. I can't imagine people are faking these in one collection. Let me know what you guys think?

Tampa, you know it is green for sure? I had looked him up and didn't see a similar sig. The Valenzuela, doesn't look right to me but I'm not very good at autos, 99% of what I have comes from a card manufacturer or I got in person.

Not saying they are fake but I've been saying for years that anyone smart enough not to fake big money names would be able to make a small fortune with very little chance of getting caught. Because who the heck thinks someone is going to fake a nobody's autograph?

It's too much of a grind though, thieves are not generally known for enjoying hard work. They would rather go for the big score, the other problem is that to make the same money you have to commit the crime more times. This increases your chance of getting caught. The jerseys seem like real ones so take a Sheffield jersey. They go as little as $50, you take out the cost of the jersey and you're making almost nothing.

If you're willing to forge an auto, you're willing to steal a jersey. Plus if you get knockoffs, they can be had for like $25 a pop. In any case, it's an easier way to move items that aren't moving on their own. You'll get more out of them and they won't be as scrutinized either. I am more fearful of photos really. They are pretty cheap and usually sell pretty cheap too. So if some jerk wanted to go print a handful of photos off and forge autos, and then take them to an event or even an auto signing, he could easily sell plenty with little evidence left behind of who he was. This is why I'm really picky about what I'll buy and who I'll buy it from.

I can see the photos being a tough one, the photo itself is nothing. I've never been a big auto hound and I only own autos that I've gotten myself IP or TTM. There was a kid I went to school with that could do Jerry Rice's auto better than Rice himself. I ended up not going after the Valenzuela, not really because I didn't think it was real but it was a subpar auto. I believed they were real mainly based on the collection of players, it was just such a random group.
