about this kind of danger with cards.

i collect ip auto cards just as much as you.

i have had some ip cards stored in penny+top loaders for over
20 years , ex . minor league prospects such
as Chris Carpenter, Carlos Delgado, Shawn Green.

You are 100 safe in 1 touch or penny/top

the 1 method that will screw you is
if you put them in screw downs or those old school
brick holders.

This jeter was put ihn a screw down in 1996.

i took it out a few years later and part of the corners came off.

That blows! Yeah...I never fool with those unless it's for extremely rare vinatge cards. I own a solid number of two. So I put them in the penny sleeve type holder that is archival safe for older cards and then put them into the screwdowns. One is a Mantle and one is a Jackie Robinson. Nothing else has any need to be in one of those as far as my collection is concerned.

some as long as 20+ years w/o being removed until recently....... Ive had cards in penny sleeves in top loaders, in sleeves in old card saver type flimsy things, in 9 card pages, in screwdowns, etc. and have never had a card stick to the plastic or had an autograph transfer or stick. Maybe high humidity might do something, but I live in Hawaii and havent had a problem. Most of my sigs I got through the mail are from the late 1970s and most are ball point pen, but I do have some sharpie sigs too, never seen a problem. personally.

the jeter that is pictured was bare inside the screw down. no penny sleave. that is why the card stuck.

besides that no problems with the method you were asking about.
