BA Hot Sheet Prediction Thread

Based purely on performance alone, Kannapolis' Terry Doyle would be # 1, hands down. He's had 2 insane starts this past week --

14 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1, BB, 24 K.

But unfortunately, BA takes ceiling more into account than performance, and he was nowhere to be found in their Handbook. Plus, he's 25 in Low-A. Therefore, expect to see him in the Men Among Boys section.

Austin Hyatt is another candidate for that section.


As for the Hot Sheet itself, until a couple of days ago I might have given it to Trout, but he hasn't played since the 11th, which will hurt his chances.

Therefore, I'm predicting Strasburg will take the # 1 spot. Amazing numbers - 12 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 13 K

I'm not sure Hosmer will make the list. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan but he is not hitting for power....and like chicks, they tend to favor the long ball.

I'm hoping the 12 doubles will translate into more power down the road. What is most impressive, only 1 strikeout in his last 38 AB's.

Sure the longball is great but the guy is literally seeing everything (he's the poster boy for lasik ) & batting a phenominal 12-for-27 .444 avg for this week's BA Hot Sheet time period with 4-double's, 8 RBI's, 3BB's-to-1K, & he even threw in 2 SB's ta boot (he was 2-for-2 in SB attempts)!!! I honestly think he's top 3 material but you know how that goes as BA has some crazy excuse's...hohum...I mean reason's for picking & choosing whom they do.

I think Hosmer's HR power will come & I think it may be time to move him on up (unless they want him to sit tight & work on his "longball" approach..which IMO isn't a good idea since he's batting .402 after 34 gms & holds 21BB's-to-11SO's...which is a DAMN good ratio; ya don't wanna tinker with something that really isn't broke!).

Basically you have to cure cancer to make the Hot Sheet if you play in that league.
