We are having our first child (a baby girl) due April 24th, and right now she is in the hospital being tested for pre-clancia (sp?) but they might have to induce labor as early as tommorow evening..They checked the baby out today and she is healthy which is a great thing, but we won't know for sure for 24 hours...I'm on my way back to the hospital here in a few...so please keep us in your prayers...thanks and God bless

Re: I ask all of you to keep my wife in your prayers please

Pre-eclampsia is high blood pressure in the mom caused by the pregnancy and the only way to stop it from progressing is to deliver the baby. As long as the baby is healthy, and near 36-40 weeks there should be no problems with inducing labor early.

Wish you and your wife all the best.

pre-eclampsia is not as severe as it sounds initially. it's eclampsia that you have to worry about and thats where the seizure activity kicks in. being pre-eclamptic means her blood pressure is elevated. does she have hypertension (high blood pressure) or does it run in her family? hopefully the doctors can just put her on bed rest and let her carry to term. my wife had the exact same thing happen and with prayer and bed rest, all turned out well. good luck with what the docs decide to do.

Update:

First off thanks for the support.

We just got home from the hospital, and she still has the baby. They ran several tests these last 2 days and they all came back looking good. They first said she was retaining way too much water and wasn't getting enough output when she went to the bathroom so they were worried about her kidneys, and thought they may have to do a c-section. Well after numerous tests and ultrasounds they released her today, and told her strict bed rest. Just wanted to say thanks for the support, and hopefully little Kaia will stay in there a few more weeks(due date of 4/24)
