We all did weird things as a kid collecting cards.

While going through my Mattingly collection, the above thought went through my head when I came upon this pack.

I actually remember finding this rak pak (yep, that's the correct spelling) at a drug store in 1987 near my mom's office and recall being so excited!

Not only did it have Donnie Baseball in the back, but also a Joyner RC too! 1413900509500.jpg

Sure, little value today but back then it was a find and I knew it had nice value....So why did I do this?1413900599230.jpg

Even though I knew it was worth something, I didn't realize that putting those name labels on would probably make it worthless. Kid being a kid.

Anyway, these packs were notorious for being able to be searched just by moving the cards inside each pocket and those name labels tell which good card is in each pocket.

So, what weird collecting thing did you do as a kid?

I used masking tape as a laminate on my vintage cards from the 1950's - 1970's :(
