Is this assumption accurate?

Somewhat.

It's been said by Amaro, and with three catchers on the MLB roster, sure looks like, Marson will spend most of the year in Lehigh Valley.

Carrasco should be there as well.

Drabek may start in Clearwater but will probably spend most of his time in Reading.
Donald should start in AAA.

Good thing I got $250 for this, otherwise I'd be upset.

I was very happy to pay $175 for that with the live.com discount. It looks like a 9.5 to me, so I might have to grade it soon.

The only question left to answer is: What role will Happ have on the major league roster? Will he get "Madson'd" or will he be the #5.

Madson was given an opportunity to start.

He sucked at it.

He found his role as an 8th inning guy and has excelled at it. That's his lot in life, until he leaves the Phillies.

As for what Happ will do; the rotation is definitely set 1-4 with Hamels, Myers, Moyer and Blanton. At the end of the year, Happ was the #5 guy -- not because of injury, but because of suckitude from Kendrick and Eaton.

You've got 4 guys fighting it out for the #5 spot -- Kyle Kendrick, Adam Eaton, Chan Ho Park, and Happ -- and Carrasco, presumably. I have to believe that Eaton's done on this team -- Kendrick may be sent to AAA again to become a middle reliever. Park is making $2.5m, so it's realistically between him, Happ, and Carrasco.... which means it's between Happ and Carrasco.

I believe that all of the relievers are coming back, so there's not much room for anyone else, but I have to believe that Happ will have a spot in the bullpen in the Clay Condrey role...long relief. Assuming 12 pitchers, and that Bronco Zagurski comes back, you've got 15 prospectives. Send Kendrick and Carrasco to AAA as well as Bronco, and there are your 12 pitchers. Happ better have an awesome spring.

56 Joe Blanton R/R 6-3 255 12/11/80
-- Carlos Carrasco R/R 6-3 215 03/21/87
55 Clay Condrey R/R 6-3 215 11/19/75
37 Chad Durbin R/R 6-2 200 12/03/77
47 Scott Eyre L/L 6-1 220 05/30/72
35 Cole Hamels L/L 6-3 190 12/27/83
43 J.A. Happ L/L 6-6 200 10/19/82
38 Kyle Kendrick R/R 6-3 190 08/26/84
54 Brad Lidge R/R 6-5 210 12/23/76
63 Ryan Madson L/R 6-6 200 08/28/80
50 Jamie Moyer L/L 6-0 185 11/18/62
39 Brett Myers R/R 6-4 240 08/17/80
16 J.C. Romero S/L 5-11 205 06/04/76
59 Michael Zagurski L/L 6-0 225 01/27/83

I figured I'd bump this up. Some great reports on Brown and Knapp.

I like knapp, bought a bunch of elites and also won my second sterling black ref last night. Lots of phillies fans bidding as they hace sold between 50 and 65...

They are a little out of my price range right now. He's either going to a.) bust, b.) Strong bullpen arm, c.) elite closer, d.) or a 2 starter. It should be fun to watch him develop though and I do plan to buy his Sterling stuff.
