Hey folks,
Maybe this may be too niche but I thought I'd start a thread for us fellow collectors to showcase our original baseball artwork that was used in publication (cartoon/strip art, paintings, etc).
I picked up those two original 1960s Detroit Tigers gouache paintings:
Some of you may remember the first image as it was used often in matchup previews (logo vs logo). See the link below for the (modified) published image:

Both images were also used on official Tigers media guide covers during the early 70s but also modified...they were most likely captured on high contrast film then retouched/recolored. There are many other poses but those two were the only ones I could find as originals.
I've been unable to get ahold of anyone from the Tigers organization to get more info. They seem to play hard to get for some reason. I've tried to reach a couple people who worked for media guides but all of them ended up being unreachable. Oh well. No matter...being a longtime Tigers fan, I'm very happy to get my paws on those two treasures!
