I don't know if this is the proper thread to place this, but thought as it was baseball related and such, somebody might get a kick out this. In advance, I apologize if this is the wrong area.

I haven't been to a garage sale for years. So my Son and I, who has just reached the age of getting all excited about rippin a pack of cards, hounds me to go this garage sale. I call em and they tell me they have some sports cards. So we go, mind you its out in the middle of nowhere and get to looking around and find about 5 moving boxes, filled with all kinds of sports card stuff. Basketball, Baseball, Football, Hockey so and so forth. Half of the boxes you could tell had been gone over pretty good. So I asked if this was all they had and the lady brings me into the garage and shows me another 5 moving boxes sealed. She said it contained pretty much the same stuff as the 5 boxes she had out. So I was bummed and all it as it was all mostly modern stuff. So I said I would give her $50 bucks for all it, as I thought my Son wouldn't give a dam if it was all modern stuff, it was found treasure to him!!

So long story short, load and log the heavy (#$%$#$# home and began unsealing the other boxes and found tons of all kinds of sealed oddball sets and silver coins, gold cards and Shaq and Junior Rookies in binders, Sealed Magazines, sealed boxes and baseball stamps just weird stuff, just tons of stuff like this:

THEN, at the very bottom of the last box, in a sealed plain small box, found this!!!!!!!!:

So, my Son has hit the jackpot and is all psyched out to tell his ball buddies about his discovery! As it was his naggin to go do something that found!

Anyways, thanks for viewing!

 what I said was "I am going to look at an asserted raw Michael Jordan Fleer Rookie today" (there was a modern day Jordan hoard actually, of Jordan's in binders etc. but didn't post that either  ) So, there we have it! Appreciate the help though on the Basketball ball boards!

Re: Baseball Card Garage Sale FIND of the Year!!

You made it sound like in your original post that all of this came as a suprise to you. You acted as if you had no idea the Jordan rookie would be there.

But in reality you knew a jordan rookie would be there was you were trying to gather other forum members help so you could be sure not to buy a fake jordan rookie.

Some people might think think going to a yardsale and buying a $750+ card for $50 and knowing what you are doing the whole time would be a bush league move. I personally dont care what you do, you are the one who has to sleep at night. It also shows what type of example you would like to set for your son also. But once again, its your business.

Just in the future make sure your stories are straight. All you had to say was something along the lines of. (went to a yardsale knowing there would be a jordan rookie there and look what i bought).

Someone says they have a Jordan auto for sale and a bunch of crap for 50 bucks. He goes and buys it and he is an idiot for that? Jealousy is a bitch man. You would of been all over it like a cheap suit at a disco. Moron.

Moron was meant for the OP. I was being sarcastic and that would of been obvious after i said moron, cause that Jordan is fake and he knows it. thats why his stories are not straight, probably hoping to trade it on here after a few, " yeah its real" responses

Re: Baseball Card Garage Sale FIND of the Year!!

I see modern stuff.....
With a high quality LARGE scan of the Jordan front and back, its not too hard to tell if its authentic.

A high % of these cards raw are counterfeits........ you may want to be 100% sure before getting your son all excited with stories of big $$ and big finds...

Just saying,

Ive seen my share of posts on Raw Jordan Rookie discoveries over last 10-15 years, and I cant remember a single one being authentic after research.

Just saying,

Re: Baseball Card Garage Sale FIND of the Year!!

1st very obvious thing that jumps out ............... the borders on back of your Jordan are less than 1/2 the width of the authentic one in the SGC slab posted earlier.

Im no expert on modern basketball stuff............, is it known for there to be variations with large and small projections of the backs of the Jordan?

Just saying,
