Wait.......Williams is laughable, not only laughable BUT just as laughable as Jeter???
And you agree that Williams "doesnt have historical importance OR name recognition"???
This one you need to explain!

Jeter easily is a more well known name is the US than Williams. Not sure how you are debating that.

Anyways if you read the next sentence I stated both don't deserve to be on a four man Rushmore

Jeter is a more well known name to whom, 15 yrs olds and chics?

Williams IS a HOFer, a war vet and one of the greatest players of ALL time.

Jeter is a Yankee and gives you an auto if you **** him, thats what he has going for him.

However, to stroke your tiny ego, I will say youre right, this Ted Williams guy is a nobody

I mean ****, even ESPN (take it for what its worth) has Williams 4th greatest of all time!

Yea, for sure.

Lets just get something straight about Jeter too... Jeter is a well known name just in general, not necessarily baseball. I mean sh!t, my wife probably can't name 10 baseball players but she sure as hell probably knows Jeters name. That doesn't mean he is going to be up on the Mount Rushmore. I would probably agree that he might not make the Yankee all-time Mount Rushmore!

Clemente was one of the reasons baseball is what it is today. Just look at how many "Latin" players are in the MLB.

And yes...Nolan Ryan was that good. Maybe he isn't at that "historical level" yet. But he will be.

You're basically exchanging Cy Young for Nolan Ryan... you sure about that?

I think Clemente can be easily argued as the 4th spot...

You are correct, Jeter is a well known name for many reasons.
For Maxe to say that Williams is just as laughable as Jeter, just shows his incompetence, well known name (in present society) or not.
If one were to ask most baseball historians to name the best 5 hitters all time, you are going to hear Williams mentioned 9 out of 10 times.
You will rarely, if ever, hear Jeter mentioned.

Mount Rushmore of baseball is over the entire span of time, not just in the moment, therefore I could give two ***** if Jeter is a more recognizable name than Williams with today's society. No different than if one were to go into some communities and ask folks to name them the greatest 4 presidents of all time. You sure as **** know Obama's name is going to come up and he's well, not a top 4 ;-)

And while we're on the topic of Jeter and yankees/recent players... Rivera gets a hell of a lot closer to the top of any of these lists than Jeter ever should.

It's funny right... the Jeter Mount Rushmore argument is like the Lakers argument in the NBA... not only are they not the best team in their conference, they aren't even the best team in their own building ;)
