The Celtics returned to their regular season team last night, at the worst possible time.

The reason they lost so many leads was because once they got up big (like, say, up 13 in the 3rd quarter), they stopped attacking and tried to shorten the game, when there was way too much time left to do that. And it happened again last night. That's part of the reason the fouls were so lopsided - they were content with taking 19 seconds off the clock and settling for a jumper, where the Lakers kept going inside.

Bottom line is, the Celtics didn't do enough to win. Nothing else really matters.

But, the three things that piss me off about the whole thing:

1) Rebounding.
2) JVG telling us that we have to be happy for Ron Artest. No, Jeff, I don't. I won't. Sorry. But he did make me laugh by thanking his psychiatrist and promoting his new single instead of, you know, being happy for the team or something like that.
3) Kobe using his family as props. That really disgusts me, for some reason. But during the trophy presentation, they get to be at the front of the crowd, while his teammates (and even Bill Russell) are relegated to the background. Even a ****** with a lethal outside game is still a ******.

3a) Sasha Vujacic acting like he actually mattered. But, I'm sure that's just me.

Not sure if you remember this but all charges were dropped against Kobe. If that's what bostonians need to talk themselves off the ledge after the choke job from last night, then have fun with that while we celebrate consecutive titles in LA.

BTW, the best part of the trophy presentation was the Celtics being relegated to the locker room, but I'm sure that's just me.

Man Boston fans are a bunch of whining beatches, you didn't hear this kind of garbage from Laker fans when you guys won in 08...

As far as Lebron signing with the Bulls, I'll say right now that won't happen. Bosh maybe, but Lebron will stay in Cleveland.

Also, Tomlinson dude as a Celtics fan, why root for the Bulls to beat the Lakers, I guess you don't think the big 3 will make it back to the finals?

1. Don't include us all because of Miggy. I don't have any problems with the officiating, and my only complaints were against the Celtics for poor performance.

2. I do think Lebron goes to the Bulls, and I know the big 3 doesn't make it back to the finals.

Yes, because every time charges are dropped, it means nothing happened.

SIgned, OJ Simpson.

PS - you must have missed the part where I said that the bottom line was that the Celtics didn't do enough to win.

These are two completely different sitautions, but I guess you can try and make a connection since they are both high profile athletes. It's pretty easy to tell what happened in the OJ case, anyone with half a brain could figure out who did what. Also, in the OJ case, charges weren't dropped, he was acquitted because of an inept LAPD investigation and because the jury had it's own agenda.

In the Kobe situation, the judge dropped the charges because the plaintiff refused to divulge her similar experiences with 4 or 5 other guys in the previous week on the stand. The evidence that was presented did not support the charges, so the case was dropped by the judge. In the American legal system that makes you innocent. It's funny to me that as soon as someone is accused of something, he is automatically guilty in some people's minds. In my mind there is a lot of doubt as to the credibility of the young "lady" in question, and it's more likely than not that what happened was consensual based on her history of casual relationships and the other facts that surround the situation.

Lastly, I never said you didn't recognize the fact that the celtics blew it, I just said that celtic fans are resorting to old news to try and mitigate the pain from the loss and it's really petty and small in my opinion. I'll say this again, if Celtic fans need this to feel better about that miserable failure in the 4th qtr, it's pretty sad in my opinion, but have at it. All the anger and bitterness from Celtic fans makes the victory and celebrations out here so much sweeter for Laker fans.

 , let's keep it going, I love it...just out of curiosity, how is what I said a low blow?
Is it because I doubt the word of a person with questionable credibility and a financial motive to make fake accusations?

I meant because you keep shitting all over Boston fans for the actions of 1. Guess what, we would all still think Kobe was a ****** whether the Celtics won or lost. So it isn't sour grapes, and the only one complaining is Miggy (which shouldn't count). I guess if you want to build everything up and make a mountain out of the mole hill that is Miggy, then go ahead. But real Boston fans know what happened. This team was old, lucky to get as far as they did, and they wore down at the end of the game and blew it.

Either way, you guys still have one more title to go just to match the C's.

Thanked. Because that was my point...
I know the difference between OJ and Kobe; I was trying to make a little joke. But being found "innocent" and not actually doing it aren't always the same thing, and that's the gist of what I was getting at. I have never believed Kobe, and never will, but that's only compounded by the way I feel he uses his family as props to rehabilitate his image (and, by the way, I have the same problem when any high-profile person does the same thing, so I'm not just picking on Kobe because of this series).

Nothing else in my post (the parts you didn't quote) should be taken as complaining about the refs, or anything other than the Celtics' performance. They played well enough to win for two 9-minute stretches, and not well enough for the majority of the game. And the result was that it was. I can continue to hate Kobe and Artest independent of those actions, and not be considered "sour grapes". I am actually intelligent enough to compartmentalize the two.

And, to further T21RB's point, the Lakers still have one fewer title, in 10 more Finals appearances, if we want to talk history. But last night is all that really matters. So, congrats. Enjoy it.

Of course, none of this matters. I'm from Boston, so I must be a *******. ;)

Actually I have no real issue with Harrison, he and I talk pretty much every night in the chat for about the last two years or more and if had a real issue with anything he said, I'd have no issue talking to him personally about it.

It's the rest of you "mature" celtics fans who make me laugh about the whole Kobe situation. Miggy wasn't the only person to talk about the whole sex thing. Go back through this thread thread and get back to me about that.
I wouldn't have said anything about the Kobe situation if Miggy was the only person talking about it.

The only reason you and other Celtic fans believe what you believe, in my opinion, is because Kobe is a member of the Lakers and nothing else. If he was a member of the Celtics, I truly think there would be a lot of different opinions about the situation. Also, if the Celtics would have won, nobody would have even mentioned that situation in this thread except maybe one person. The only reason it's being talked about right now, regardless of what you believe, is because the Lakers won and the Celtics lost, so that makes it sour grapes in my eyes.

BTW, the Celtics won most of their Championships when there were like 8 teams in the league, and have one title in the last 25 years or so. Let's talk about this century. Lastly, good luck with this team next year with no Ray Allen and probably no Doc, and an aging Garnett and Pierce. Nice effort, you guys have a great defensive team and played a great series, congrats and hope we can do this again next year.

I 100% agree that we feel that about Kobe because he's a Laker. That's my point though. You made it seem like we're resorting to that because we lost, which isn't the case. He's the best basketball player on the planet, but he has a terrible personality. I'd think that even if the Celts had won the game. No sour grapes here.

I think Ray will stay, but I'm not sure if that's good or bad. He was a big part of why the Celtics lost this series. I'm also not worried about the loss of Doc, since I don't think he's a great coach. He's just like Phil Jackson, who is really just good at dealing with egos. The real loss will be Thibodeau. Right now I'd say there is no chance the Celtics make it back unless they make a major change. With the impending retirement of Wallace, expiring contracts of Allen and role players, and Pierce potentially restructuring his deal the Celts could have upwards of 40-45 million in payroll coming off the books next season. If the owners are willing to stay above the cap, they could pick up a nice player in the offseason.

The only reason you and other Celtic fans believe what you believe, in my opinion, is because Kobe is a member of the Lakers and nothing else.

Michael Jackson - not a Laker
Ben Roethlisberger - not a Laker
my friend's ex-boyfriend - not a Laker

I hate them as much as I hate Kobe. None of them were found guilty, either. But I'm pretty sure they did it, too.
