Really surprised that LA took this first home game away from Boston, next game is a must win for Boston now.

Go Celtics!

This is heating up to be an epic series! Lakers roll in 7!

If it's a 7 game series, can you really say a team "rolls"?

My random thoughts (a la T21RB)
* These refs are really pissing me off. 47 fouls in a 48 minute game? There seems to be no sustained momentum.
* A bad Ray Allen night, and the Celtics could have still won. But he wasn't bad. He was HISTORICALLY bad. Bad night, he goes 4-13 and that's enough. Hell, even if he only hits that 3 from the corner with a minute left, that might have been enough.
* When the Celtics have the ball at then end of a quarter, and the shot clock is off, I think they're shooting 1-for-93 in these playoffs, and the one was Pierce in the Miami series.
* Derek Fisher was the absolute man.
* Moving picks are like holding in the NFL. It happens on every play, and even after 30 years of watching them, I can't figure out why the ones that get called do 80% of the time (and this went both ways).
* This Strasburg kid might have a future.
* Justified was the best season finale I've seen in a long, long time.

I was reading an ESPN chat today with 3 of ESPN's "experts" and they agreed this is the worst officiated finals in at least 15 years. I think the Mavs vs. Heat was close, but the refs have had a bigger impact on this series than any I can remember. Foul trouble for key players from both teams in each game, stupid off the ball fouls to disrupt momentum, fouls called just from guys being physical and fighting for position, and total lack of consistency in the calls they are making.

You don't mind that the game is being taken out of the hands of the players and decided by the officials? You don't mind watching terrible basketball because the rhythm of the game is taken away by the refs? You don't mind seeing Kobe, Bynum, Artest, Pierce, Ray, and KG all getting in foul trouble for minor contact, flopping, or off ball fouls? No excuse for this officiating, no matter who wins.

i absolutely hate the fact that they are calling bad games...but it could be worst and could be bad calls all on one team.

Fair enough. Both teams are losing on calls. I do think the overall way the games are being called favors the lakers. I mean, Phil Jackson basically asked for it to be called this way before the series when he did his Jedi Mind Tricks in the press talking about how physical Boston plays.

Kobe is starting to take over this game.
Celtics shooting terrible again, but still in it.
Very happy with the way this game is being called. Still some missed calls both ways, but none of the chicken **** fouls from the first three games.

Pierce's punch on Eddie Rush was the highlight of series so far to me.

My buddy and I were talking about how Tony Allen follows the equilibrium theory. Whenever he does something good (gets a steal at the end of a quarter) he must follow it up with something terrible (throws the ball away instead of getting it to Rondo for an easy layup). He always balances out.
