I said it in the Cavs and Orlando series. Bostons Defense will either shut down the other teams superstar or the rest of the guys. Its amazing how the defense just flows and decides who its going to shut down.KOBEARODLT said:nobody shows up for the lakers but kobe...amazing how bad his supporting cast has been playing
I hope you predictions are as true as what you said before game 5sdsportsfan1214 said:Nba wants this to go 7 sooooo bad! epic game 7 should be fun to watch cuz lakers got game 6, they'll get all the calls just watch haha

I"m not necessarily being critical, more curious - are Laker fans really complaining about officiating in this series? The Celtics had 4 free throws as a team at the halfway mark of the 3rd quarter, and Derek Fisher himself had more than that in the first 6 minutes. And I don't even think last night was bad by their standards. It was probably the best in this series.
And for the people complaining about the 24 second (non-)call at the end, that ball did skim the far rim; you can see the rotation change and the ball hits too far over on the far side of the backboard to not have been deflected over there - at least, that's how my DVR made it look and sound (you can hear the double-hit of rim/backboard). I mean, Ray Ray was off, but not THAT off...

The officiating has been decent and fair the last few games, but I see the Lakers getting alot of calls in game 6

I was thnking the other day who would win the mvp for celtics if they won and could not think of anyone...the games they lost nobody played good, the games they won were because of rondo and allen one game, davis and nate rob one game, and pierce just recently, not one player has played consistant at all, its either a good game or terrible

It's Pierce or Rondo. I read that article and thought it was really dumb. The Celtics are fine with Kobe getting 30 points because they want to shut down everyone else. Also, giving the MVP to the losing team makes no sense. Doesn't it prove that it's Pierce even more valuable since the team started winning when he started playing well in games 4 and 5? Kobe played well the whole series, yet his team is down. If the Celtics win 1 of 2 then the MVP goes to either Pierce or Rondo, depending on who has the better game in the win.
edit: Now that I think about it, nothing would bring me more joy than watching Kobe have to stand with all the Celtics celebrating their team winning a title, while he has to receive his individual award.

to me it just means that his supporting cast played like complete garbage were as pierces did not...and i dont see how pierce or rondo can get it when they have each had like one good game during the series so far, and yes i agree that kobe would HATE having an individual award given to him knowing that him and his team lost to the celtics

I think if your team loses a game, it shouldn't matter what the individual does. It's no different if Kobe scores 10 and the Lakers lose by 20 than if the Lakers lose by 5 and Kobe scores 100.

kobe has been the best and most consistant player in this series by a landslide but i agree it would be kind of weird seeing the losing teams player get the mvp
