To little surprise, no one put in a waiver claim for former Eagles receiver Hank Baskett and his $1.545 million base salary in 2009.

And, to even less surprise, the Colts have landed Baskett as a free agent, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The Colts have obvious needs at the position, given the loss of Anthony Gonzalez to a knee
injury.

That said, it's always difficult for a receiver to make an impact on a new team with a new offense when added to a train that's already rolling.

It's likely even harder when the receiver in question is a guy who has averaged less than 350 receiving yards per season during a three-year career.

This was all over sports talk radio here in Indy last night. I think he is a valuable addition to the Colts offensive scheme. Peyton needed another big target.

I wouldnt bother the time he get settled in underrstsands the plays etc Anthony Gonzo will be back
I really do like this pick up a good WR with speed who will help on special teams but ido expect him to be putting up Gonzo type numbers in the coming week.

Don't understand why they let him go over Reggie Brown. Baskett had made some big plays for us since 2006 but it seemed they only came once per season. He will do well with the Colts though, who will use him properly.
