I remember not that long ago some people on here were wondering if Security should be able to take bats away from fans.

Mark Teixeira just lost his bat into the stands. It landed in an open isle where about three stadium security and a "waitress" was standing. A security guard got the bat, and gave it to a fan that was passing by.

Boy that guy is going to be p'd off when security comes and takes the bat from him. He should have taken the bat and left. I'd take a game used bat over watching the last 5 innings of a game anyday.

Im sure they'd stop him before he left the stadium.

Different parks have different procedures. Sometimes it may look as though security is taking the bat but it may not be that way. A few years ago a player for the Cubs gave someone a bat to give to me. They had to go with security to check the bat in for their keeping. After the game they were free to go pick it up.

I was once hit by a Tim Raines bat at Wrigley. Usher came and took the bat bat to Raines.

After the game, I went home with a bruise on my rib cage and a signed baseball.

A few months ago Brett Gardner lost his bat in the stands at Yankee Stadium and they let the fan keep it.
