Gigantic sized BHN and TS went head to head with each other back then.

In reality, each were large sized SCD's and yes, AWESOME to read!

Here's a few interesting ads:

Can't have any publication without several dealer's selling massive (full page!) amounts of classic stuff

And who can forget Smokeys or Big Bob? Bob had plans on franchising his business at one point 1404347811475.jpg1404347825234.jpg

And the "plethora" of ads selling 100 and 500 ct lots of all the latest cards1404348118924.jpg

Nah, keep doing it. Your last thread with the '82 SCD was awesome. These are my favorite kinds of threads.
BBCGalaxee has been posting this kind of cool old school stuff for months and I love them.
There are enough old magazines and articles and ads to last you guys years.

I remember visiting Smokey's right next to the old Boardwalk (Holiday Inn) casino in Vegas. Didn't they go under after they got caught up in some kind of counterfeit scandal? I remember them being on 20/20 or something like that.

I used to go there all the time too when visiting Vegas...I would play video poker at the Old Boardwalk casino (paid in coins no less) then cashed out and went to Smokeys to blow the winnings....fun times.

I love this stuff. I remember when a card would spike a dollar and I couldn't wait to tell my friends. I bought my 1989 Donruss set from one of those ads.
