I would like to remind you all to be careful when trading.

Know what the red flags are, and make sure you do your homework and know the person you are trading with, especially if you are sending at the same time or first.

Make sure you don't use paypal gift unless you have a history with the person you are dealing with.

For another layer of protection, keep a 0 paypal balance and pay with a backup funds source like a credit or debit card. This gives you another layer of protection.

Ask for tracking numbers.

Not that it will help too much, video tape the opening of high end packages.

When it comes to your trading security, every little bit helps.

Be safe.

People get beat all the time. Most of the time its not for big money. Problem is that folks who have common sense sometimes put it aside out of a desire to get a deal. Gilmo hit all the tell tale signs of why people end up losing their cards or their money, they allow themselves to have lapses in judgement. i dont think anyone is out of line asking someone with no feedback and that they dont know to send first. I've had at least 10 people send me cards without me paying to prove they are legit. If you are legit, you shouldnt have a problem proving it.

Agreed on all points. Unless there's healthy feedback, hold off on gift payments and keep the paypal balance at zero!

With that said, I frequently request gift payment on larger items...just sayin' :D

Another aspect is that people can go bad at any time. People can build up feedback on little things, and then run away with a big item.

This thread wasn't inspired by anyone getting beat, but rather as a warning to not be so complacent when trading.

I recently got a package in from Yemen that I believe to be the Ryan Braun Superfractor AU that I purchased.

Should I videotape myself opening this?
