...compliling from Beckett, SCD, another website (which isn't always accurate, but helps to corraborate) and stuff I have not listed anywhere.
I've done 1981 (1st minor league card) to 1993, and have 262 items listed. I have 1994-2000 (as a player) to do, then the few that have come post-playing days. No wonder I haven't worked on this for a long time! My back gets sore, my eyes get dry and tired, and it doesn't feel like I'm getting near finished! Has anyone else compiled their own master list of their player before?

I take mine from beckett and add what they do not.

I would like to take a new list up but the amount of work it would take, especially with the current website I do not ever see it happening.

Onionring9 I believes runs a mcgwire master checklist with a few other collectors.

I expect this list to have less than 500 items, which would keep me out of the 1,000 Club around here. But I think I'll have a pretty good percentage across the board. Stupid Pacific and all those parallels in the late 90's is gonna mess up my percentage!

Greg-

I have been compiling an Ozzie Smith checklist for years and years. I combined Beckett, SCD, etc… In my experience the SCD checklist was the greatest help because they have legitimate items listed that Beckett doesn’t recognize. Also, I have literally sat down with every large price guide type book and just went page by page looking for Ozzie’s name. This was helpful in the days before the internet.

Talking with other collectors is critical as well because I have learned about numerous cards that I didn’t know exist. I only collect Ozzie cards from 1978-96 (playing years) and Beckett only has about 840-850 cards listed. My checklist from 78-96 is at 953 and that doesn’t include all the different Topps sticker front/back combinations (I’m at 860/953 or 90%). I actually take great pride in my checklist because I can’t imagine another one like it anywhere.
