How many teams are we shooting for? 10? 12?

If you really don't know how to play I wouldn't suggest a league with mostly beginners, there is a good chance that 1/4 of the league will lose interest almost immediately if they've never played before. If you really want to get started it makes more sense to be the new guy playing with people that have played for a while so they can help you out. That being said, if you do play for money the one experienced player is guaranteed to love to "help" everyone in the league.

Exactly, that's the point of putting a little money in, makes it interesting. If not, most lose interest.
