UCONN stars reunited. Charlie V is drippin with upside and put up 50 in a game and has been in the black hole that is milwaukee. He will be excellent in Mo town.

I wouldn't give Charlie V $35,000....much less 35 million. He is inconsistent, doesn't know what defense is, and Gordon is a tweener guard which they pretty much already have in Stuckey. Detroit wasted the potential for a great free agent signing as they kissed away their cap space on those on two good bench players......

i'll have to agree with you guys, good players but they arent going to lead you to a championship. Neither of these signings equal what other eastern conference teams have done, espicially if the Celtics get Shed!!

I think Charlie V will have a even bigger season next year, He is a versatile big man that can dunk, shoot the three and dribble the ball. He is basically Rasheed Wallace part 2 in the making.

Ben Gordon I have different opinions on, I know he puts up a ton of points but he is a small 2 guard... I thought They already had Rip Hamilton?

Anyways they basically have the great Uconn players of old, Charlie/Ben/Hamilton.

I wouldn't give him $35 million but I think you undervalue him.He is a very good support player and could help Detroit but they still need a leader and Ben Gordon is not it.Just my opinion though.

If he is so drippin with upside.... why is he on his 3rd team in 5 seasons? ::facepalm::

NBA continues to pay on potential... and except for 3-4 teams... the rest of the league is just a small step up from NBDL.

Nice, looks like the Eastern conference won't have to worry about Detroit for a while. Tying up all that money in a guy that has struggled as a starter and performed best as a 6th man and a guy who has had motivation questions since college and played really well in a contract year... Good idea, Joey? With any luck they'll bring in Jim Calhoun has coach too.

A guy averages 13pts and 6rebs in his career.... and gets rewarded with a $35M contract.

Where do I sign up?

I know what you mean but I like what ProspectorsAdvantage said. I think Charlie V will be better than we think next year.

He Averages 16 and 7 last year, I think he can put up 20 and 7 or 8. I think he will be the better bang for the buck than Ben Gordon.

BTW this kid has a ton of potential, everyone thought he was the next great thing his rc year scoring 40 a few times, I think he dropped 40 a few times last year. He struggled for PT his first year with the Bucks.

Charlie V will be a very solid player. Noone gives him a chance, I can see him performing well in Detroit.

There is a reason Charlie V bounces around so much, and no it's not because he doesn't have eyebrows. No defense, inconsistent....and the word potential always comes up. Is he a nice pick-up sure, for 35 million....absolutely not. Will he revive Detroit, no way in hades. Who is your center, Kwame Brown...good luck with that. Hamilton couldn't play with AI, now he is supposed to play with Gordon, who is a lesser AI.......they just took the fast train to nowhere (Prince is the only guy that can play D on that team)...as the Celtics got better, Cleveland got better, and Orlando is sure to get better......Detroit is headed to lottery town.
