I wanted something newer, so I was looking at 09 stuff, but I think I like the 07 and 08 RC classes better. I actually really like 08s.

I prefer on-card autos, but its not absolutely necessary.

mostly looking for something fun that will give me 3-5 nice hits. with the possibility for some nice parallels/patches/ 1of1s ...

I think I'm willing to spend about $120... one nice box or a couple lesser/fun boxes.

been looking at Ultimate, SP, Leaf Limited, Absolute Mem, etc.... would rather open more than one or two "packs" ... unless the hits are really fun.

help me decide guys... otherwise I'll just end up waiting for 09 Bowman Draft baseball. but i'm in the mood for football... this will also be my first box in quite a while... [6 months or more i think]

If you don't mind rookies in college uni's, then UD Heroes is fun to open on the lower end of the price point (like $65). I'm not saying that's the "best" product....but it does have on-card auto's, patches, low numbered inserts, etc. , which you can't always find in a lower-mid end product.

Other than that you're probably best off picking whichever Donruss product you like best, because you should be able to find pretty much anything other than Treasures in that price range. Or you can gamble with SP authentic and try to hit a nice rookie patch/auto, which are great looking cards but are not guaranteed per box.

thanks for the rec of Heroes. I checked it out. it looks interesting, but I may be looking for something with a bit more "pizazz" / shiny / patchy.

absolute memorabilia is tempting me right now.

so for resale value / number of big names to pull from a RC class, would you go with 08 or 09?

Yeah Heroes is more of the "can be a fun break for the price" , than what would be considered a "great product".

If you're thinking about Absolute - the 08 rookie class is def. deeper at this point, but from what I remember (could be wrong, so someone else can chime in if that's the case) the 09 breaks have been much better. They loaded this year with a ton of sick patches.
