Best and Worst College Basketball announcers

My absolute favorite is Gus Johnson. I love hearing him call a game

Even though I'm a Buckeye, I cringe every time Clark Kellogg is announcing.



Who do you love/hate?

Gus is the best, bar none! Plus, he always seems to draw the best March games. He's also done the best two NFL finishes the last two years too. If you want examples, he has a pretty good YouTube following and tribute compilations.

And I really enjoy Bill Rafferty, Doris Burke and the local 76ers radio guy, Tom McGuiness.

But watching Kenny Smith do my beloved College hoops will be awful. And even though I like Charles Barkley on the NBA, I doubt he'll do any research or anything else to contribute much to the College coverage.

I know he was a great coach and probably knows more about basketball than everyone on this board combined but I HATE Bobby Knight. If I have to hear him talk about how the use of a "shot fake" is the greatest play in basketball history, I'm going to shoot myself. Who cares if they guy was wide open already or if their was 1 second left on the shot clock, a shot fake should have been used and would have made the shot go in. I just can't stand listening to him.

I'm sure you all have feelings about Dick Vitale also. He's got to be a pretty polarizing announcer. I know my wife, who doesn't really watch sports, hates hearing his voice when I'm watching games.
