OK Rick Ankiel has a very good arm. These are the greatest i have ever seen. my top five. let the debate begin!
#1 Shawon Dunston
#2 Ellis Valentine
#3 Roberto Clemente
#4 Dave Parker
#5 Dave Winfield

Pretty sure most people don't remember Valentine, as he mostly played in Montreal and destroyed a potential great career with drugs. He is the best outfield arm i have seen in my life, he was absolutely insane.

I still think this is one of the most amazing throws in the history of baseball.

nice throw from deep second base[/quote:3mz5cayd]

Come on...really? "Deep second base?" Granted he wasnt on the warning track or anything but that was still a rope. That's like saying a popup to 2nd would be a deep play for the catcher. There's less than 10 players in baseball now that make that throw.

Ichiro gets more mileage out of that throw (from shallow rf) than Mays gets out of "the catch"

If there are 10 guys currently in BB who can make that throw, then it doesn't impress me.

The fact that the ball was no more than ten feet off the ground its entire way to third speaks volumes of his arm strength. That was a straight line bullet of a throw.

I don't think there are 10 people who can make that throw.

Mind you that Ichiro threw that ball at 100 MPH rofl. He was not thinking about how far it went. He can surely throw farther than that and I witnessed him throw a ball from the RF corner at the old Yankee Stadium to third base during BP and it almost landed in the first row of the third base line.....the dude has the best arm that I have ever witnessed.

Ok..these are guys I saw in the 60's and I really dont think anyone today can compare with their arms!

Roberto Clemente. I saw him throw a running out at third from the right field corner of Wrigley Field. The runner was going from 1st to third on a sure double and he was cut down with several feet to spare.

Willie Mays. How many times did Willie throw out runners on the basepaths from balls hit into the gaps.

These two were the best I have ever seen! I am only 47 years old but it is going to be difficult to top these two men in my opinion.

Bo.

In addition to some of the names already suggested, I would add Dwight Evans.

For catchers, Mike Lavalliere and Pudge v2 come to mind. By all accounts, Campanella was pretty amazing but I never had the pleasure.

Rafael Furcal's arm is one of the best I've seen for an infielder (Dunston takes the cake). Van Pope from the Braves farm system has a cannon and has since been moved from 3B to P.

Studies have been done that concluded that Roberto Clemente and Jesse Barfield had the two strongest OF arms of all-time. I'm only lucky enough to have seen Barfield but nobody mentioned here (Vlad, Ichiro etc) comes close to what Barfield could do from RF.

Good memory - you're basing your opinion on your 6-year old (or younger) memories. But no one is going to debate your choices!
