Ok..these are guys I saw in the 60's and I really dont think anyone today can compare with their arms!

Roberto Clemente. I saw him throw a running out at third from the right field corner of Wrigley Field. The runner was going from 1st to third on a sure double and he was cut down with several feet to spare.

Willie Mays. How many times did Willie throw out runners on the basepaths from balls hit into the gaps.

These two were the best I have ever seen! I am only 47 years old but it is going to be difficult to top these two men in my opinion.

Good memory - you're basing your opinion on your 6-year old (or younger) memories. But no one is going to debate your choices!

I may have been six years old but that throw I saw in Wrigley Field by Clemente is a vivid memory I never forgot. It is as if it happened yesterday. I also base my opinion not only on my memory but the old video I have seen, books I have read as well as the opinion of many former major leaguers that I have asked personally. They have backed up my memory with their facts about these two players.

I do have to say the posters that are saying Shawon Dunston are also correct. He had a very live arm but could be erratic with his throws. But man he could really throw.

A couple guys who were already mentioned: Dave Parker, who had the best All-Star game Outfield assist and Jose Guillen, who had an abosolute cannon.

I didn't see Larry Walker mentioned but he was very strong and accurate.

and IF you can count Damon and Manny as one player, they were still below-average.

Johnny Damon!

Ok, I'm kidding! I can't add anyone that isn't already on the list. The best I ever saw was Dwight Evans, who was someone I grew up idolizing. He had a canon for an arm.

And even though I never saw him, I had a friend who played against Clemente in the 60's. I asked him one day about Roberto and he said that Roberto was one of the best all around players he had ever seen. He said that one time he saw Roberto throw from deep right field OVER the catchers head. Said it was the most amazing throw he had ever seen.

I also nominate Rick Ankiel for the 2 jaw dropping throws he made against Colorado a few years back.

Talking to some Twins minor leaguers they said Aaron Hicks has hit 100 on the radar gun and has the strongest arm in the Twins farm system which really doesn't say much though.

Todd Cruz had a very strong arm at the hot corner.

For one year when I was 14 I was a rarity, a left-handed catcher... watching Ivan Rodriguez throw out runners effortlessly from the crouch was simply amazing.

Out of the throws I have seen in person it has to be Nate Schierholtz, otherwise it is either Mays or Vlad.

Jose Reyes has a cannon. Comparable to Dunston at short.

no, but my point is, 100 guys in the league, and 100s more not in baseball can loft the **** out of a ball and throw 300+ ft

Not so sure that 100 guys could do it. But if you say so.

Never saw him play but from what I have read DiMaggio had one of the best, and most accurate arms in the history of the game.
