I'll take AROD at this moment, though I think Pujols will finish with better all around numbers.

Its really tough for anyone to compete with Halladay IMO. King Felix is a stud but I am curious how he would fair in a different environment like NY or something. He would probably still be as dominant, but I honestly think at this moment its ROY HALLADAY. Not that either one is a poor choice.

I also think Bonds is better than Arod or Pujols. Too bad he is retired.

Pujols, he's played shortstop before and 3rd and left so he can play pretty much anywhere. 1st is not that hard of a position but Albert may be the greatest player I will ever see play the game.

your not that old.....but you have to remember this guy....

I remember Bonds but the whole steroids thing kind of ruined his reputation hitting a baseball is still the hardest thing in sports imo though. Ken Griffey Jr is a good pick to but this is current players so I pick Albert.

Seriously?

Even while he is in the midst of a federal perjury trial, where he has actually ADMITTED to taking steroids, people are still backing Bonds?

Steroids don't change the fact that he was the best player in the game from '87-'99 and the best hitter of our lifetime.

Yeah Halladay dominated in the AL East, and went to the NL and pitched even better! King Felix is an easy #2, though.

Pitcher: Halladay
Hitter: Pujols

What do Steroids have to do with hitting baseball? (careful)

as I've posted in threads like this before, research has proven that certain types of performance enhancers
can increase visual acuity and fast twitch muscle response.

translated: helps you recognize the pitch sooner, and decide whether or not to swing later

But that's irrelevant. He was the best BEFORE he was using. He was a lock for the HOF BEFORE 1999. He is the greatest player of my generation, hands down.

Steroids can turn a deep fly ball into an easy homerun. Two examples-Brady Anderson and Boone(Seattle 2nd baseman).

The visual argument is moot with Bonds. Since he was a little kid his dad would write numbers on baseballs and pitch to him. He would call out numbers to hit, only hit odd, only hit evens etc. In all that research you read did the cream and the clear show to help with vision?

There is no doubt Bonds was a dominant player way before he started the roids. You can't argue that it helped his homerun total though.

Not arguing that he took roids or that it helped his home run total at all. I believe that to be 100% fact. I just don't like the "it helps your vision" argument.

it's not an arguement, it's scientific fact. it's also a fact that EVERYONE's vision begins to decline as they get older,
yet somehow was Bonds was able to see/hit the ball better and farther than ever before in his career at an older age.

I'm sorry, you're right. Bonds is just one of those rare experimental awesome super-humans we're always hearing about
who's head, feet, and hands grow exponentially and who get stronger/better/faster as they get older.

Without steroids, he was still 5 tool player. He would have had great numbers without ped's. Maybe not ruthian, but he woulda hit over 600 without juice. He was that good.

I must be reading this wrong because if you are saying that as a kid he could decipher what number was written on a pitched ball (mid flight) and then decide to swing or not I'm gonna call ********! These ridiculous stories come up every once and awhile but unless that ball was a slowly pitched beach ball then it is impossible.

No I don't believe everything I read but I have no reason to doubt this. Call ******** all you want.

Calm down there tiger. No need to get so upset. I'm not arguing that steroids didn't help Bonds hit the ball farther. I simply asked if the cream and the clear helped eye sight.
