Dear boomo,

Are either of these cards trimmed, altered, restored, or otherwise tampered with in any way?
If you kindly please could advise on this that would be great.
Thanks

i replied with:

yes, i trimmed them, forged the autos, and forged the serial numbers.

It might be funny, but as a seller I try to avoid coming off as a complete a-hole to potential buyers.

I would have responded with:

No, but if you are looking for cards like that, please look for ebay sellers from Mooresville, NC.

Yeah, kinda a ridiculous question, but I usually just go with the "customer is always right" mindset and answer their question best I can without thinking much of it

Eh, may be douchy but I wouldn't worry about selling to that buyer anyways. If he is already suspicious why deal with selling to him and further accusations he may have later.

Bad idea in my opinion. Do not open yourself up to the buyer making false claims to eBay in response to your sarcasm.

You wouldn't be suspicious buying something commonly altered, online, from a stranger, without seeing the card in person??

The question may be dumb, but the response was its equal, if not worse.

You easily could have said nothing, or simply stated no.

Then again, it isn't as though the eBayer asked you when, how, where you acquired the cards and whether or not you would be interested in doing a barter for lima beans.

I always respond in a professional way even to asinine questions like that. No sense losing a potential buyer by you being sarcastic and demeaning.

That ebayer asked me that as well.

I responded seriously, that they were not, as much as I wanted to provide a smart ass response.

sorry guys, i would answer that way every time. I could care less about a dick like that whether im being one or not. In 10 years selling and almost 20,000 transactions it was a 1st for me, and it isnt like he is the only buye rleft on ebay. I have dozens of regular guys that will want that auction no problem. I enjoyed my response, and would do it again in a heartbeat. Now if i owned a stroe in a mall or somewhere else, would have been totally different, but ebay? they already suck, and i could care less about the suckholes that buy on there who arent my regular hardcore buyers. That question was absolutley pathetic and he deserved that answer, i should have known all you high and mighty's would sound off they way you have. beyond amazing

Maybe dude thinks he's a lawyer-type and is archiving evidence for when he actually gets the item. That way, if he thinks it's fake, he can say you knowing sold him a POS card.
