In light of how bad Topps/Detwiler/Frazier has bungled the BDP auto situation I thought I would ask if anyone has actually had a good redemption expierence? My favorite was getting a $50 Chris Davis Auto instead of a $2 D.J. Strawberry auto.

The first two words of this thread's title are an oxymoron, at least in my eyes.

Best Redemption Experience was I sold a couple, So I did not have to redeem them.
But the ones I did redeem I did get back, although they were not any big deal
I did still get them. I have a few in right now as well so waiting on them to return, and I'm keeping
my fingers crossed as well. :)

Mine was way back in 1998 with the now-famous 1997 UD Legends football set. I had accumulated about 10 redemptions from the set that I had pulled and purchased and packaged them up and sent them off to UD. After about 3-4 months waiting (a long time back then as redemptions were still quite uncommon) I called to ask about their status and the person I talked to - I think her name was Kathy - informed me that they had no record of receiving them. I had a signed registered mail card so I knew they had been delivered, but they checked (or said they did) for several weeks and couldn't find them.

I faxed her the photocopies of all the redemption cards I had made along with all my postage info and she actually went through and hand-pulled all my redemptions and had them packaged up and sent off to me. She also said she'd be sending along a couple of extras because of the trouble. Needless to say I got all the ones I had sent in fulfilled, but the kicker was the extras - she sent me a Bart Starr Sign of the Times autograph as well as the Walter Payton from the set. I've been indebted to her ever since.

My best experience was similar to the OP. I pulled two DJ strawberry redemptions and they turned into Chris Davis. I sold the redemptions for about $130 each, much better than the $10 I would have gotten for the two Strawberry redemptions.

Every redemption I've gotten in the last 3 years has either been traded or given away. I refuse to put myself through the agony.

in 2001 at kmart i found a blaster box, although it was different then, of 1999
score football. bought it and got a very expired barry sanders auto redemption.
well, what a shock, more great collier curse fun, so i emailed donruss and gave them this
sob story about my kid being heartbroken etc, and dont they still have the unredeemed in the vault, etc.
so a woman named Rose, who turned out to be the greatest CS rep in history, tells me that she thinks
they still have them, so i mail it in, and within 2 weeks, walla, beautiful sanders auto #ed to 50.
after that, i only emailed rose and she must have personally fulfilled 20 red. requests for me over the next couple years,
including an amazing emmitt smith score 2000 auto #Ed to 22 when a 99 randy moss went unsigned. so, that 2. :)

A Topps Co-signers tri-signer of Braun, Gallardo and Parra turned into an Arod on card auto from 2002. I think this happened to at least one other guy here.

Not that I wouldn't have liked the trip, but they were U-G-L-Y! I'm pretty sure I moved the Arod for something good too, as i don't collect him.

7 days, I sent Topps all the info I needed to. One of the 4 box cases of Bowman Sterling did not have the WBC redemption card.

When I called to get the info they said 2 to 4 weeks. I had the redemption in hand in 7 days. Thats pretty good.

Nice card...but how did you get that as a redemption? The Sweet Spot Classic ones were in pack (from what I can recall when I got my Jimmy Stewart Cut Auto). I have a Mystery Cut redemption (only found in 2008 SP Legendary Cuts) which I thought read SP Legendary Cuts on the top (not Sweet Spot Classic). Seems VERY interesting if they are redeeming the Mystery Cuts and sending out a Sweet Spot Classic cut. I don't mean to "rant" as your card is definitely sweet regardless...just wondering if that is what you got for your Mystery Cut.

Thanks :)

Redeemed a Ult Sig ROYs dual auto Jeter/Ripken #/75.

Notified it was being replaced, so I told them to send the big names.

Got 2 Michael Jordan auto cards out of it.

Lol.

My best was getting a free pack and pulling the Dice K Auto out of SPx. I redeemed it and then sold it for 300.
