That only matters if you are planning on never selling. If you do that goes right out the window.

TriStar, Just Minors or Steiner. I would rather know that the company held the signing and saw it signed rather than trust their judgment on something that is sent to them.

Stuff sells all the time without having to pay extra for an opinion whether an autograph is real or not.

Steiner without a doubt. I also use PSA/DNA. As for Tristar, only if you buy the item from Tristar themselves. If you buy a signed item with a Tristar cert from a regular Joe Blow off ebay...IMO the cert is worthless at that point.

I actually spoke with a guy I know a few weeks ago who told me he took an item he got signed IP to a Tristar show with him. The guy who signed the IP item happened to be there at that exact show signing that weekend. All he did was go and get another players auto( they often have like 4 or more people signing at once), then when he jumped into the authentication line, he took out the item he really wanted to get authenticated(from the IP signing) and he gave it to them and they promptly authenticated it. They had no idea nor did they check to ensure it had been signed there.

I'd imagine this happens quite a lot. I had just never run into anyone who had tried it before. Luckily I know the guy wasn't trying to get fakes authenticated because he does multiple IP signings. Tristar is a good company but when it comes to authenticating items at a show, they are pretty much useless. All they'd have to do is set up authenticators at the actual booth the athlete is signing at. But they don't. I've brought this to their attention and I don't think they really care.
