As conference play starts soon, I'm already looking forward to March and the finale, "One Shining Moment" by David Barrett, current version sung by the late Luther Vandross. It started as a Super Bowl song, got pulled, switched a little, and has been shown after the final credits every year since 1987.
Here's a couple recent ones, CBS has pulled most of them, but some sneak thru on Google video, if you're looking. I took the longer 09 version for some backstory.

Anytime you get Gus Johnson, Bill Rafferty and an "Oh MY!" from Enberg, it's about the coolest. And the players wait for it too, they show it in the arena with many of them still there, watching. JMHO, but it's definitely the best song in sports.
