We touched on this in the Football Daily  , but yeah, for the first time in a LOOONG time, I have alot of confidence in a Rick Barnes UT team. The problem is that all of the "experts" do too, which is often the Kiss of Death.

Na its not the kiss of death I see these kids play everyweek they dont let what the experts say get to them and Balbay and Johnson keep this team in line.

Until someone beats them, its Ohio State. Sullinger is amazing as a freshman and they have a great frontcourt. Only question is the depth of their bench.

Way too early to be making this claim. Wait until the championship is won then you can crow.

I don't think there's a definitive "#1" this year, at least not right now. Ohio St., although they've been winning, have looked very beatable and have played to the level of their competition. Duke looks dominant at times, but at other times has looked almost mediocre, especially when the three ball isn't falling for them. Texas is a very good team, but again, beatable at times (even by not-so-great teams -- see USC game). I'm not sure Pitt can survive the rest of their Big East schedule without a couple more losses. I think Kansas is the top team (right now). They've got the talent, and they seem to be hitting their stride right in the thick of conference play. I know they lost at home to Texas, but that's their only loss, and obviously is a "good loss"{.

....unless their playing the Big East.

(I think that finishes the sentence in the Topic Title.)
I'd have to imagine they'll have to beat a couple Big East teams if they do plan on winning the title......the good thing is unlike football - it will be decided on the court....so we'll get to see and it should be a ton of fun since most feel it is a wide-open field.

Even with the loss, I still see them as the best team

Hah, well damn. That didn't last long. Just goes to show the value of a message board opinion. ::facepalm::
