Hope you don't get tar and feathered for starting a thread which was just a thread not that long ago ;)

Jk, I like it!

I'd say the various Cleveland Indians teams in '90s hands down. Gives me chills to think how close some of those teams came. Sad.

Obviously it's the 2011 Red Sox. Heck, they rival the 1927 Yankees!

Another vote here for the 95 Indians with an honorable mention to the 2007 Indians.

Yeah, I thought about them too. But I didn't see 'em that much, did their pitching besides Nagy hold up?

Martinez and Orel were huge in 1995. Throughout the 90's the Indians were always attempting to add a front line starter. They added Jack McDowell in 96 he had a decent year then injuries got the best of him. Traded for John Smiley and he destroyed his arm.

John Hart supposedly had deals on the table over the years for guys like Pedro, Schilling, Randy Johnson (maybe even Clemens at one point) for guys like Jaret Wright, Sean Casey, Jeromy Burnitz, Richie Sexson, Bartolo Colon and Julian Tavarez but never pulled the trigger.

2003? Cubs. Didn't even get robbed by an opposing team but their own fanbase

Not even remotely true.

Bartman didn't give up 8 runs in an inning or boot a routine double play ball.

Without that second out, that eighth inning goes differently. Instead the Marlins rallied and had momentum while the Cubs imploded.

Doesn't matter. Wasn't his fault.

That was a foul ball that may or may not have been caught.

And I was AT game 7. They were out-managed.
