Who had the best week 1 performance, choose "other" and name the player if he isn't in the poll.

You need your head examined and a t-shirt that reads "HOMER" if you don't pick Brees.

I voted for Brees, but i did think that Brady had a huge game (378 yards, best in week 1), considering its been over a year since he last played. AP also had a big game, 180 yards rushing. Reggie Wayne had 165 yards in the air, Sproles was an animal on returns and scored the winning TD.

Matt Sanchez actually impressed me the most in week 1.

I do think AP and Brees obviously had better games and put up insane numbers, but the reason I still think Sanchez was most impressive is because I think very few people would have been shocked if you were to say before week 1 that Peterson would run through the horrible Browns run defense and that Brees would torch the Lions. That's not to diminish those and others accomplishments, just saying - to me, that Sanchez playing like a veteran and leading his team to the upset victory made me take notice and say "wow".....and as a Dolphins fan say "crap".

Brady put up 378 yards and 2 TD's after being out a full season. He looked kind of crappy in the first quarter and still finished with those numbers. He also led a 4th quarter come back and won the game.

Yes, I am a homer.

The poll reads: BEST week 1 performer?

NOT

Who impressed you the most. I would think that would be statiscally driven..........Brees, Peterson, Brady is how I would list them.

That run by Peterson was just pure will and power.

I know that. Maybe I shouldn't have said "impressed", but doing what is unexpected plays into a performance and even though the numbers are not equal I would still vote for Sanchez as the "best performer". I like the Roethlisberger pick though too, he was amazing to watch at the end of that game.

It's obviously a subjective question, and I choose to answer by taking more into account then simply looking at the stats....if one were to do that there would be no room for opinion or a poll. It's the same as many analysts saying USC's Barkley had the best performance of the week, while the Michigan kid put up much better numbers. Or would you say that New Orleans, because they have a million yards and scored the most points of the week, had a better performance than Pitt. who had to pull out an overtime win against Tenn?

He did it against the Lions dude. They tried not to score by throwing a screen to their 100th string RB (Evans) and still scored. I pick Peterson.

He was the better of the 2 rookie Qb's but that wasn't too hard to do considering Mark Stafford really sucked.

Richard Seymour - arrived in Oakland on Saturday - two sacks on MNF helping an Oakland D that almost every pundit thought would get destroyed almost pull off a shock win. Homer pick!
