1st Sunday off in a few months. Looking to have a little speculation fun. :)

Who should have the better career?

What sort of numbers should each project to put up? Either yearly or career.

What players do Trout and Lawrie compare to?

I'll take Trout. I think he'll be what people wanted Grady Sizemore to be. .300, 30 HR, 30 SB type guy. The defensive value puts him ahead of Lawrie, who I could see becoming a poor man's Ryan Braun.

Lawrie has played a stellar 3B for Toronto and has an absolute cannon for an arm. Not saying I'd take him over Trout, but he'll be an infielder, unlike Braun who was a disaster at 3B.

I think Ellsbury this year is giving a glimpse of what Trout could become, though I'd expect more BB's from Trout. As for Lawrie, the Braun comp is probably pretty apt, though I don't know if it needs to be prefaced with "poor man's".

Big price spike for Trout. Last one of these sold for $230 three days ago.

I like Lawrie.....i wish he was in more than razor......and i wish i still had all of these.

I wasnt expecting his fast start, and the person ive heard him most compared to is Utley.

I think Ellsbury's season this year is what Trout could average.

He'll be in chrome, but I'm sure they won't be at a bargain any time soon.

Looking at Lawrie - does he have the body type to stick in the infield through his prime? This isn't saying he won't be an all-star but can he stay at third or will he have to be moved to a corner outfield position or first base?

Mike Trout - he could be a .300, 30, 100, 50 SB, .400 on-base, .500 slugging guy in his prime - basically your prototypical superstar talent if he's healthy.

I will take Lowrie on this one. That dude is incredible
Sure as hell can't beat a switch hitting infielder who can play all IF positions!

Wow Lawrie hauls ass! Just beat out a double play and stole second, didn't realize he could run that good! That solidifies my Lawrie pick :) (Even if it was against my Red Sox  )

I don't mean this to be disrespectful to anyone, but I pick Trout, and think that in 5 or 6 years it will be laughable that some chose Lawrie over him

I think it's laughable that you can predict the future.

If Trout does that, he's a HOFer in the Mays and Mantle class.

Debate this all you want.

But the real question here is:

Do you really lose having either one of them?
