I sold an Andrew Brackman Sterling Ref 9.5 for $2.51+ $3.50 shipping.

The case is "chipped" on the top of the case. Buyer wants a full refund?

It was chipped in transit.

Just seems now worth it for the buyer for a $6 card that is already graded. Grading on it was $5.

Absolutely...full refund upon return of the card.

That's what insurance is for, and if you didn't purchase it, that is the sellers fault.

I will give him a refund once I get the card. Just seems like more of a hassle over $6. The case is chipped slightly, according to him. It is not cracked or anything.

Some people are pretty hardcore about minor things like that, and if it's just minor, then it should be easy to resell. Regardless though, absolutely get the card back first and then provide the refund.

Make him return the card and give him a refund. The headache is not worth $6.

I'm the buyer. I realize it's only $6, but I bought it for the slab, and it just isn't visually appealing.

If it's a big deal to you, I'll just keep it.

I know it looks like nothing in the scan, but in person it makes me cringe (I am extremely OCD).

One of two options

#2 seller pays buyer fees to reslab

was it shipped properly in bubble mailer and all?

I'll refund you, I have no problem with it. Just send it back and you will be refunded.

I pictured a 1 inch piece missing from the slab until I saw the pic.

It wouldn't bother me at all but I know every collector is different.

Not that I don't agree with everyone who says that it looks like a very minor chip, but the buyer bought the card under the assumption that the case was fully intact and did not have this chip.

I think this is the best example of when a partial refund might be necessary.

That way, neither party is wasting money shipping the card back and forth when it's only a $6 card to begin with, but the buyer can be a little happier knowing that he got a slight discount due to the slight discrepancy in the condition of the case from when he bought it to when he received it.

Refunding the buyer 10%-25% of the total cost makes a lot more sense to me than the buyer spending $3 to send it back to the seller...in order to get his $6 back.

Sure it's not a lot of money, but to me, issues like this are about the principle, not the money. It is up to the seller to make sure the buyer gets exactly what they paid for.

I've had cases that were chipped like that.. I smoothed it out with sandpaper (extremely high grit) so you don't get snagged on it..

Good luck,
