Very nice cards and a great idea!

My only comment is to echo a previous comment...it would be nice if something like this could be done to draw in more collectors of the other sports (football, basketball, hockey) as those boards still trail the baseball board by quite a bit. These cards will be well received (I'm sure) by the baseball folks at the show though, especially those familiar w/ prospects.

I guess my biggest beef about the design is that they look like the 2008 cards that tristar gave away at the national which I ended up throwing away. They also remind me of cards team best used to make.

That's a little better I suppose. Although, kind of harsh to compare that design to the FCB set.

It would be awesome to have a card of for Baseball, a Football card, Basketball card, a Hockey card, and a non sports card in the set. I personally do not like the FCB logo on the card, but other than that I like it. If it were me though, I would make it like a contest type card that would drive the consumer to the site. On the back of the card have a promo code that they have to enter on the site and they could win prizes. I would show the prizes at the National and tell them to log on to the site to win the prizes.

I like that idea. I think it might be hard, but maybe there could be some laptops at the booth where they could register and enter the contest. If the people want to see if they won, they will go back to the site and hopefully, be hooked

why all the team best bashing? i for one always liked their product. i am fan of simple designs, i don't need the glitz and glam of sets like elite and spx. i think mike and the boys did a great job on these and they should prove to be a great promotional tool

I am the only one who mentioned team best. I never liked Team best because I don't really like minor league cards and didn't like how flimsy the cards are and how cheap they looked. I am not disagreeing that these cards won't serve a purpose at the national, I just hope they don't end up getting tossed by the majority of people who receive them like I did with the tristar cards.

Those are the forums that need the most attention/advertisement. FCB IS baseball... to reach out to those other collectors at the National would have done wonders for more "membership" on FCB.

Yeah, it would of been a great thing but..... I don't think you have any idea of the cost involved with doing such a thing. I don't think FCB's marketing budget would come close to allowing that. Keep in mind that no other web site will be handing out their own cards at the show.

I would rather critique something honestly than just blanket praise (which is no different than some of the blanket bashing once the Razor logo was applied).

Regardless, this set is to promote FCB and it will do that quite well...no matter what the cards look like.

Only problem I see is this now cementing this as a Razor board, also this promo does nothing for the less visited forums.

But with that said I think the design is sweet.

They've also included Just Minors cards. Clearly they are a Just Minors mag.
