bigger surprise: Chris Johnson or Steve Smith

Are you more surprised about Steve Smith's success, or Chris Johnson's suckiness...

For me I had a feeling about CJ maybe because he held out and I wanted him to suck... but Steve Smith is the biggest surprise for me, even with a great QB, I wouldn,t have suspected him to play so well. What a great partnership with him and Cam!!!

Chris Johnson. Smith's talent was always there, but as a WR you need a delivery system to get the ball. Granted I haven't watched a ton of footage from this year of him, but Johnson just looks terribly inept at finding the hole when there is one, and making space when there isn't.

I am many ppl will say they are more suprised by Steve Smith. He wasnt suppose to have a good year his numbers have been declining as of late an Cam Newton was coming in to be his 3rd starting QB in as many games lol. I thought Chris Johnson would have a bad year even before his hold out. He has been the work horse an only real option the team has had in awhile also it didnt help when kenny britt the only distraction CJ had so teams would stuff the line went down with an injury.

Anybody that has actively watched Steve Smith play over his career knows that if he tries he can be an absolutely fantastic wide receiver. With the revitalization in Carolina mainly with Cam Newton, Steve Smith knows that this year and next year are the last chances to win a Super Bowl (or at least the last years he will be able to contribute in the same way he has in the past).

As far as Chris Johnson is concerned, I haven't watched him enough over the course of his career to collectively make judgment on how he plays. I however am a huge fan of Matt Hasselbeck and if he says Chris Johnson is Shaun Alexander, I don't think that bodes very well for the Titans.

More surprised by Chris Johnson having an atrocious year. At this point of the season there is no excuse that he was not "conditioned". Steve Smith, on the other hand, has always had the talent and finally has a QB to revive him.

Chris Johnson for me. I have heard about the offensive line, but his decline has been pretty dramatic. I expected a decline, but not this big of one. Steve Smith clearly had no one to get him the ball last year. I did not see this big of a jump, but I snapped him up in most of my fantasy leagues as I anticipated Newton being down on a weekly basis and having to throw a lot.

Chris Johnson is so hesitant when it comes to hitting a hole right now. Says he spoke with Steven Jackson about when he held out. Jax told him it takes about 6-8 weeks to get into playing shape. Not sure if there's any weight to that or not, bit it could have alot to do with it. Plus I'm sure CJ misses Young. Much different team with Hassleback than Young.

I would say Chris Johnson but since I haven't ever really liked him, I'll say Steve Smith...I think pretty much everyone knew what the deal would be with CJ when he finally got paid and Smith in all rights should have had a very bad QB in Clausen or a rookie who was supposed to stuggle in Newton so he has to be the winner in this debate.

I gotta say Chris Johnson. I expected a slow start having missed camps but geez, he is a non-factor! I've always like Smith and its good to see him having success again.

I'll go with Steve Smith by way of Cam Newton. I honestly did not expect Newton to play as well as he has. Smith is an extremely talented WR and we all know he has a tremendous skill set. I never thought Newton would be doing as well throwing the ball as he is this season. So because of that, I really did not expect much of Smith.

In the NFL since the contracts are not guranteed I think players, especially RB's, once they get paid the only way they can collect on their entire contract is to not get hurt.

I think they play not to get hurt or just hard enough not to get cut either. When you quit playing full speed you are doomed in this league.

Smith ALWAYS had the talent, he just had crappy QB's throwing him the ball. Giving him a mobile QB with a big arm? Just showing what he always had.

I expected CJ to have one or two bad games early on, but not this. Severely disappointed by the star of my favorite team.
